I think it's done.

You need a total of 8 riders for your devolpment team right? So 6*100 + 2*200 = 1000?

Yes.

hillis91
Is the team constant, so if you have like 14 eligable riders - can you switch them out for each race. Or is the 8 you choose, only racing u23 races for the enitre season?

If they are designated to be in your u23 team, they are in there all season.

What does the Recalc include? Is that the one you pay if you want to make a rider better?

It's a recalcutation of rider stat limits. Eg when a young rider with pot 6 hits his limit at mt76 at age 25 you can buy the package and have a chance for a higher stat limit, eg mt78

My opinion on rider decreasement and retirement, definately after seing visconti decrease so hard.

In my opinion all ICL riders should develop until they reach the age of 30.

First decreases should start with riders tha reach the age of 31 last riders that start to decrease at the age of 33. Riders that reach their Age of decline shouldn't be allowed to get trained anymore to keep them at the same level.

31 Age of decrease32 Age of decrease33 Age of Decrease

36 -> 37-2-2-2
37 -> 38-2-2-2

To give an example what will happen when someone has reached the max stat of 82.

36 -> 37747474
37 -> 38727272
38 -> 39RetirementRetirementRetirement

Riders who have hit the 35 years old and don't have a team should get removed from the db. However other riders should not all race till the age of 39, Instead I want to prevent of them all reaching the age of 39. Which you could easily prevent by adding a higher minimum wage for the best riders of a generation. Riders who are in Categorie 1 ever reached 82 on at least one of the five main stats (Hill, Sprint, TT, Cobbles or Mountain). Riders who hit 81 on one of those stat in categorie 2, third categorie for the guys who hit 80. This minimum wages will prevent riders to retire at 39 instead of the managers who really love to keep them (moneys are just examples).

Cat.1 riders (82)Cat.2 riders (81)Cat.3 riders (80)
Minimum Wage650500400

Of course this all is just an example, but isn't as random as the one you would like to use, and it seems more realistic to me.

Think this could be a viable alternative. The categorization of the riders could be fun and may end up quite expensive to have some name values to bad riders which you dont want to let go off Smile

Too late to relegate now and switch sponsors to WCC? Pfft

And give away loads of bad riders and somehow get 650 to turn Astier into pot 7 god?

I have updated the Archive File: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sqs0ihk60qg....xlsm?dl=0

May I know how much the interest in this file is? Dependent on that I decide how much I work on finishing/improving it. The teams and Races pages are not yet complete.

Maybe someone has also some nice suggestions on what to add. Smile

Yeees, waited for this file to be updated. Wink I definitely love it and hope you continue to provide us with the details. it's very nice to follow the game's progress and go in-depth on a rider's progress. I'm sure it'll help the quality of Team posts since it provides plenty of insight on that front. Smile

Looking at the CT after this transfer round there are two signings (so far this season) I'm most envious about:

- Moreno Moser (Wilier Trestina): 28 years old and potential 7, he will still improve and he's already pretty much the best hilly classics rider in the whole ICL world with his HIL 79, STA 78, FLA 75 and the rest. The manager had to make a 2nd round FA bid and won with 900, still a most reasonable wage.

-Geraint Thomas (Wiggle): He has surely peaked and is already 32, but apart from that he's a simply great rider, COB 78, plus FLA 77, STA 77, HIL 74, TTR 76 and much more. And all that for a wage of only 650. A steal, something we were told would have little chance of succeeding, but Wiggle hit the jackpot.

Well done to both those managers. There are a lot more signings I also like, of course, way too many to mention them all, but those two stand out for me. I would have never had the balls to compete for Moser and I never considered Thomas for a steal, either, even though my only two steal attempts were also on Bunzl riders - sorry, brewers!

Having updated the Archive File I could also quickly update the stats sheet for GT and monuments results after I haven't done so in 2 seasons: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rna87qgnvxg....xlsx?dl=0

A short overview on the most important stats:

Grand Tours

Chris Froome is still the king of ICL Grand Tours, despite a rather weak 2017 season also due to an unfortunate planning. He leads the win list with a win in each of the GTs as well as the Stages Ranking with 19 wins, the same amount as Marcel Kittel, who is by far the most successful GT sprinter; Cavendish in second with 8 wins. Also notable Nibali now with 9 GT stage wins, after he had still 0 in my last update. Until 2017 only Adam Hansen and Valerio Agnoli completed all 3 GTs in the same year. In 2017 a stunning 7 riders completed the challenge.

Monuments

Monument wins are far more evenly split among the champions of ICL: Only 3 riders managed to win more than one Monument so far: Bauke Mollema, Philippe Gilbert and amazingly Alberto Contador with his two LBL wins. John Degenkolb is the rider with the most podiums (6), including 4 second places. The recent Il Lombardia was the first ever monument in all of ICL history that hadn't Peter Sagan on the results sheet. He was the only rider to complete all of the first 19. Until recently even with him was Maxim Iglinskiy who rode all 15 monuments until his retirement. The change of focus of Sagan is also apparent in the rankings of riders doing all monuments in a year, which Sagan still won in the first 2 seasons. After that Philippe Gilbert took over being the best Monument rider two years straight now.

It should have read something like "best specialised hilly classics rider", since his big opponents are also GT GC riders (and Gilbert is now 36).

Smile

I love the idea of the ICL archive, it's a really useful thing to have. Unfortunately I can't get the functions to work in OpenOffice but I'm glad that the file is now smaller - it loads much quicker than the old one.

I think once I've figured out a quick way to use the file it will be great, so thanks for compiling it again Grin

That is just painful! At least his managers don't have much to complain about since they're probably the two most successful sprinting teams in ICL history.

Poor cio Pfft

But to be fair, some of these results probably come from being final leadout man for Marcel Kittel. i used him a lot in that role in more important races like TDF, MSR or Palm Classic Pfft

He would win more in basically every other team Pfft

And how are you sure you can pick the lead out man?

I can never be sure what exactly will happen but one can do educated guesses. Kittel as the best sprinter in the game will often get a leadout train from the AI. In most cases the leadout will simply consist of the guy with the second highest SP stat of your team as final man and third highest SP guy.

So when I send Kittel, Ciolek, Willwohl, Chaix, Wagner, Boom and Mathis to a race the leadout will likely be willwohl -> Ciolek -> Kittel Wink

Still a better love story than in the ManGame...
