Kris Boeckmans

for PCT this team should be alright. Nothing amazing, but alright.
And we'll have all-French wildcards in TdF '18 - how predictable

disagree with Paul, very interesting team there - Coquard of course the big star, but this is a PCM type sprinters team here... Lecroq is a great talent, Manzin and Fournier have a lot of upside too - Vangenechten and Boeckmans are experienced sprinters perfectly fitting into the Europe Tour and their half-classics, while de Backer and Le Bon could step up their game leading a team for the rough windy and cobbled classics.
With Coquard they add a Top 3 PCT rider, I wouldn't be surprised to see them as a Top 5-8 PCT team in 2018.

Agree with Croatia, this is a very good team. Coquard is not just a sprinter, but has shown he can be a great puncheur/classics rider as well. Boeckmans back on his old level will easily win CT races. Van Genechten is a GT stage winner in a mass sprint, I doubt all protour teams can say they have a rider like that. Le Bon just needs his big breakthrough. This team could do really well.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Vital Concept reminds me Skil-Shimano 2010-2011. It will be very interesting to see what they will do next year, with a team focused on sprints and classics. With this kind of team, there are a lot of great deals especially in french and belgian calendars. These calendars are full of deserted classics, and if Pineau's team grab all these opportunities, the project could progress very quickly. When you hear Pineau on french TV, you see that he is really interested by this calendar. Moreover, he would be able to do at least Paris-Roubaix and Bretagne Classic, maybe the Tour, but there are only four wild cards, and only one left because Cofidis, Direct Énergie and Fortuneo - Oscaro are de facto selected. I see three major candidates for the last wild card : Delko Marseille, Wanty and Vital Concept. |

→ New dutch team in 2018 : Vlasman Track/Road Continental Cycling Team.
More informations about it : https://www.wieler...ploeg.html (du) and https://www.procyc..._Team_2017
Ton Welling's project will be a mix between track and road, and the confirmed riders are Wim Stroetinga, Yoeri Havik, Bas Ottevanger, Dion Beukeboom, Michael Vingerling, Roy Eefting, Melvin van Zijl, Robin Löwik, Gino Vierhouten and Joost van der Burg.
→ Iuri Filosi and Alexis Guerin to Delko Marseille : https://www.ciclow...-marseille (it) & https://www.direct...os-en-2018 (fr)
Alexis Guerin rode for Etixx development team in 2014 and recently won a stage in Kreiz Breizh Elites. He seems to be a correct puncher and could replace Quentin Pacher who left to join Pineau's team.
→ Julien Vermote to Dimension Data : https://www.rtbf....id=9685957 (fr) |

Movistar
I don't get it. Is Landa going to gain 20 million or some crap? They've just signed one rider, and let out 10. |

Remember Movistar is a team in the middle of the budget class - and they have to pay 3 superstars in Landa, Quintana and Valverde. No surprise that all the big helpers go elsewhere to earn the big money. But as soon as they keep the young guns with Roson, Fernandez and Soler together the future still looks bright, and didn't they intend to sign Carparaz too?

It'll be very interesting to see whether or not Martin is replaced given what happened at the Tour. If I were Quick Step, I wouldn't bother. They have to focus on sprints and classics again.

What is interesting to me is that the Abu Dhabi backers in UAE-Emiraites are doing MUCH better than the Bahraini prince in the transfer market. One has to wonder if Bahrain-Merida was just a project for Nibali alone?
With Kristoff, Dan Martin and 99& sure Aru UAE is trying to make a Sky-esque superteam now that their backers have opened up their moneybags. Considering how miniscule the budget was this year due to the fact that the new backers came in late December after the TJ Sport thing tanked. And now in 2018 the team's budget will be much bigger.

Kenny van Hummel claimed yesterday that he had a contract with LottoNL, but he was linked to QS already for quite a while. He's one of the best U23 sprinters and can also ride strong in general, taking a win from the break in this year's Ster van Zwolle and winning the Slag om Norg last year. Sad to see him go to the team I dislike most
Edit:
RIP Career of Halvorsen (2015-2017), he signed for Sky
