Btw guys, there's no Youth competition in the Vuelta, just letting you know.... anyway my prediction is for Bardet to win his first ever GT and Froome to crash out of the race in Andorra, nothing else really matters now does it? |

Actually this year they have created a U25 competition, without jersey.

WHO will be better Aru or Bardet?
I do not know what to expect from zakarin and orica guys. Also i have some feeling that TVG will be somehow good?
Alaphilipe for points jersey? Hmm has he had any good result this season? I think his form is hard to predict.
I think jungels wont be good on that steep climbs .
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Stage 3 is a very nicely designed stage though they could have added Gallina before or after Rabassa.
Anyways the climbs on stage 3:
Col de la Perche:
Alto de la Rabassa (only till the Sant Julia de Loria intersection) :
La Comella:

Angliru to be the last mountain that Contador climbs. I imagine Spain will go crazy that day.

In Spain we are so smart that the day of Angliru, the regional derby, who hasn't been played in lots of years, Oviedo-Sporting Gijon, will be played at the same hour

It amused me reading through the stage descriptions.. 6 is more than just hilly-ish, its proper hilly despite the long run in. Stage 13 is probably some of the flattest road you can ride in Spain. And Stage 19, well, I wont join you on your flattish rides. Again a proper hilly stage. |

Anyways, that wall on stage 6 is brutal. A friend of mine knows it and its tougher than Xorret de Cati. Speaking of Cati, very nice its back, its a legend of the Vuelta. I think last time we saw it was 2010? And speaking of dewellish gradients, look out of Los Muchachos, its downright brutal.
Theres very good things to say about this design, it looks like a very good Vuelta. The biggest factor is they have limited themselves to 4 sprinter stages, thats great. One of my only problems is Angliru on stage 20 which potentially can hamper the ambush potential of stage 19 and 18. In different order and we are golden, but that obviously means Anlgiru isn't on a weekend and you do not want that as an organiser. |
