For me it is a disgraceful decision to hand the combativity award to Barguil and not to de Gendt, showing how fucked up the organisation is: On the public votes, which obviously has most influence by French people, de Gendt won with 11.000 votes ahead of Barguil with 1.800. What is wrong with the organisation? Also several riders in the peloton, including Robert Wagner, have spoken out their disgust on this decision.
In other terms: How much bad luck can a guy have on a race? Roglic had to ride the full ITT on low gear (54 instead of 60 before changing his bike) and still managed to finish 14th 49 seconds down. Wonder what would've happened if he'd had one of the ITTs without an incident...Luckily he had that road stage victory for compensation.

doing the tour this year was def. the right decision by bardet, im not doubting that. just hope he will consider differently next year and choose the most fitting GTs. The giro would usually fit an awesome descender like Bardet well
De Gendt is for me the deserved winner, always attacking and trying, and more importantly, often the iniative to start an attack, unlike Barquil

De Gendt retweeted tweets about the vote as well stated outright he wanted to win it in media..
Get a fucking grip and think why he won by such margin....the guy started a fucking Internet campaign to win the vote...

I would award it to De Gendt Stelvio 2012 raid but not to the weird thing De Gendt has been doing by going into breakaways and not coming even close to a stage win tbh. His best result was 5th on the chill stage two days ago when the decision was already made (I think) and a third place in the mountain ranking, over 100 points behind Barguil. In what world should be considered most combatitive? If you say the decision is a disgrace pro Barguil, I would say it would have been one if they give it to someone who thinks that riding 1k in breakaways is enough to get it.

I know, I was there at the Ventoux. I am obviously solely talking about this year because the decision of most combatitive is solely based on this three weeks of racing at TdF.
