That headline is the best one I've seen.

Contador about to extend with Trek https://www.cyclin...redo-deal/

Great news indeed. I have noticed how Trek's following has gone through the roof, especially with Contador literally posting coffee pics all the time. It's a combo made in heaven.

Despite Contador’s advancing years, Trek believe that the former Tour de France winner can maintain a high level for the next 18 months, while the bike brand has been particularly impressed with the level of feedback and analysis he has provided both on their products and his previous set-ups on other manufacturers’ bikes.

Just sad, really felt like he was gradually making his way to a World ITT title before the crash.

Just read Sports Illustrated from this week. I was pleasantly surprised to see 4 pages dedicated to the TDF, none of which included talks of Lance Armstrong or doping. The main article focused on the Sagan, Cav debacle, and the role of ambiguous rules and video replay in sports.

That, and I also saw a respected journalist bring up the Tour on ESPN today encouraging others to watch it.

It's not much but it was definitely nice to see cycling getting some coverage in American mainstream media without having to rehash Lance drama.

What a way to counter my positive American hope for cycling. He was the biggest GC hope out of the USA in years. All he's accomplished at 19 and he's already quitting.

He's only taking the rest of the year off to have a life, not giving up Rolling Eyes

that is a lot of bullshit in one post...I can offer you a short German article on that https://www.radsport-news.com/sport/s...104810.htm

It is very much likely that Ralf Matzka suffered under contaminated water - several studies of both the Ralph Denk Pro Cycling GmbH and also the UCI take on that standpoint, so it is expected to be no sanction here.

A German rider that has doped intentionally at some point is absolutely burnt in Germany, so I guess it's the absolute worst place to dope.

more Questionable is the fact that the UCI needs far longer than a year to actually make a decision on this.

Well he did have a teammate die in an accident this season, he's touted as the next big thing to come out of the US and is 19 years old, I can see reasons why he might want to take a break

hes claiming that something was contaminated?
what a surprise that only happens every time

and even if its contaminated hes still responsible

wada proved in their lab that costas supplement was contaminated and he still got a year suspension

oh and thanks for the "why would he dope people in germany are really against doping" bullshit i havent heard that since sky fans went quiet
