Some people here are just retards, Astana are still in the tour this way, you cant just give a minute to Bardet and think you've done a good job.
Froome wouldn't let Bardet a minute away, so letting Froome work wouldn't hurt them this much
Froome made it pretty clear he wouldn't be hauling anyone to the line, so sure, Astana should just throw the Tour because you are such a retard
We don't know if he'd stick to it if Astana still wouldn't work with him or if one of them two attacks.
Also, insults won't make your arguments more right
Your argument amounts to: "OH Boo! Fuck Froome right? Why can't Astana just throw the Tour for me!"
My argument doesn't amount to that, while yours amount to "y'all are retards because I'm a tactical genius which can only be right"
Sorry, I must be mistaken, giving free time to your nearest GC contender can only be a good thing
As already said: his nearest GC contender was Froome, and he gave him time.
Sure, if you look at it that way, but giving time out to someone who is directly behind you in the GC is not a good thing, and 2nd place pays better than 3rd, if you want to look at it if they are just racing for 2nd

Aru could have been in yellow if Astana played his card better, but oh well, whats a yellow jersey anyway

i hate that new trend where instad of finishing on the top of the climb riders have to descend. Results of this stupid idea might cost life of an rider at some point. |

It was perfectly fine by Astana to help with the pace. I'm much more angry about the route. After all those mountains and downhill Bardet was the quickest. He would have deserved those 30s after being the only one to take risks in the downhill. Why the fuck were there still 15 flat kilometres afterwards? The second stage in a row with such a stupid profile. |

By doing what we have been discussing for the past 3 pages: let froome hunt bardet, attack, getting a few seconds on the road and bonus seconds obviously

Yes he rode a beautiful descent and would have deserved the time gain. Amazing ride by him but even greater action by his team who caused great selection earlier on.

Hoping Contador will go stage hunting now and maybe can lend a hand to Aru or Bardet along the way, who knows. Both of them have said in the past that they are big fans of him. I'm crossing fingers for a Fuente De or Formigal scenario in le Tour.

Sagan, Trentin, Demare and 3 of his helpers outside of the time limit.
Sport freak. Mostly interested in Football (Liverpool, Rosenborg with more), increasing interest in cycling.

New trend? This was around way before summit finishes. I don't think that descent was unnecessarily dangerous, tricky for sure but Fuglsang got down by going slower.

Bla bla, if you want to beat Froome try to do something on the climbs, like Astana did.
