The first of two days in the mountains is likely to provide less action with the difficult ascent of the Mont du Chat tomorrow which is sure to bring time time gaps like it did in the Dauphine. Today though, sees a fairly difficult climb, with an incredibly long name, crested with 12.5km to go and an undulating run into the finish.
The breakaway is likely to snatch the victory this time with the BMC train of Stage 5 highly unlikely to strike twice at least until tomorrow. Potential breakaway riders include Stephen Cummings, Pierre Rolland, Thomas Voeckler, Serge Pauwels and Thomas de Gendt with some going for the KOM, some going for the stage and some maybe even going for both. The stage certainly has a high chance of a breakaway victor.
As for the GC, don't expect too many attacks because of tomorrow's beastly uphill test. There may be a small chance of some contenders who have lost some time to get away as the Sky train is expected to come to the fore and usually only follow the real contenders when attacked.
Prediction: Esteban Chaves, Pierre Rolland, Warren Barguil |

I'd love to see Eddy Bos on top for yesterday but obvious Cummings win is obvious I guess

I think this one suits Ulissi the best. Will be hard for the small riders to hit the break today though. |

I know this stage is tailor made for Cummings, but I will hold out in support for De Gendt - this is his stage!
GC wise looks boring given they ruin any chance for Aru to attack and nobody else will be interested given Sky will pull them back, unless a break can go away with a few GC riders.

It would be so hilarious if Cofidis went full gas whole day just to wreck Démare |

But probably he's sick, like Spilak23 said. I would push like a hell.
