Thanks for the thoughts on this, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but agree it doesn't seem right and the responses are the forum are poor, to put it kindly.

Why isn't there a way to automatically calculate the MO/HI ratio of everey ascent in that game?
!!! Yes, it seems so obvious. |

After reading some posts about how easy it is to win a hilly race with pure climbers on extreme difficulty, i decided to have a go with Jan Hirt in the Amstel Gold Race. I used the default database to get the "best" gameplay experience.
I wasn't surprised at all about the result. Seems pretty realistic to me:

Same with GP de Quebec. You can easily get a double victory with any WT Team on extreme. The weird thing is that your riders barely have to use their yellow bar during the race.
Selling this game is almost fraud. |

From the post
balaban a écrit:
He doesn't want the pcm 2015 system of setting a ratio for the stage.
He wants to be able to set different ratios for different climbs in the same stage.
That way you can set different ratios for the small climbs and for the long climbs.
So the speed of a rider on the first meter of a climb would depend on the length of the climb? This would not be very realistic
The performance of riders depend on the speed of the climb, not on its length: if the Mont Ventoux is climbed very slowly, Gilbert can win thanks to his punch (his HIL stat).
fragglerock a écrit:
Is not very logical that climb riders arrive at the final of the stage with more energy than hill specialist.
What's a hill specialist? What can he do better than climbers? For us, a hill specialist is a rider that can ride very fast when he attacks in climbs (or make a very high effort).
Before the end of the stage, if there has been no attack, this is perfectly normal that, if there are lots of climbs, he loses more energy than good climbers.
But again not a word of the staff that Dayer Quintana can dominate those hilly races with 85MO, 50HI and no more than decent support stats (I'd even call them weak) and that that is a problematic.

Look, it's fine to make a mistake but please don't act like it works like it should.
I will have no problem admitting our error as soon as I have seen it. Meanwhile, I'm still finding it. Thank you for helping me.
So anyone who doesn't own the game yet and thinks about buying it already. DON'T! I don't mind a game with a few issues, I'm pretty much used to it, but this goes too far for me.

he does answer that
look
You're videos don't work. It's a shame because your screenshots are interesting. I'll make some tests myself.
Do you have replays ? They contain more information. I prefer. I can move the camera where I want.

turns out the videos were private so he couldnt watch them
that is why he didnt give a definitive answer
he admits there could very well be a problem |

Ah looks like I interpreted that bit wrongly then. I stand corrected.
Still bothers me a bit that it took so long for them to admit the possibility that something's wrong, but at least this is a sign of improvement
And their newest post says that the AI should be fixed, so hopefully it'll all turn out well in the end.

I checked. Today is not the first of April.
Well, it's not helping that people are reporting the problems like fucking retards.
Why not use the default database?
If you change the stats to extremes (85MO, 50HI), it makes it more likely that the game acts weird. Obviously, the developer doesn't take such reports very seriously...
Of course, there is a problem, but for fuck's sake... |

Actually, this is the best way to test stuff. The bigger the difference, the more obvious the errors are. But make it 70/60 if you must.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Well 70/60 would be tough to win with because a good portion of puncheurs have higher mo than that. 80/60 or 80/65 would be best for testing (well imo 85/50 is but that's beside the point )

Well yes, and idealy of course you put all other stats at the same number as well. The point is, it seems people in charge of the game don't know how the stats work.
Makes me wonder how this got through beta..
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Oh, but I'm not blaming the people who played beta. I'm blaming the company that gives their beta testers a product that isn't even close to the released one.

Does this effect Time trials? Almost all TT efforts will be below 85. However most pure time-trialists cannot climb in the high mountains. |

For me it kinda does affect it. Buchmann won the german national TT against Tony. But I don't know if that's just me...

Don't know what are you guys talking about.
I played a lot of hilly classics and I think the game is much more realistic and fun than previous editions.
Hill stat = high effort on short climb , it's so hard to understand? |

Maybe i'm missing something, but i don't think either stat works....playing through my first season in pro cyclist, 72/68, best climber in the race....i'm dotting 85 on cat 1's and being dropped by 60/61 riders...how is that even a thing? |

Except it simply doesn't work as it should, and therefore the hilly classics played with low-mountain puncheurs always turn out to be very unrealistic and it's very easy to win, even at extreme difficulty, hilly classics with riders that lack strength in what should matter most, the HI stat.
If I can win Fleche and LBL with a 50 hill rider, don't you agree that there's a flaw in the engine? There must be a reason why there's been 6 pages of discussion about this issue.

Hey guys..
Maybe.. Just maybe..
Could the difficultylevels be broken? Because i'm having suspiciously few problems with winning with my Pro Cyclist on extreme difficulty.
My cyclist has 74 mountain, but he's dropping 72 mountain guys with better backup stats by 2-3 minutes a stage... 71 hill and just one attack puts the other 75 hilly guys aside taking a minute on the last bump before downhilling to the finish.
And i manage to keep up with the top sprinters (71 to 74/5) with my climber 59 sprint and 58 flat.. Not winning mass sprints but an indicental podiumspot or a decent amount of top 10/15's are already on my palmares.
Maybe it's not the stats themselves that are broken, but the difficulties.. making the opposition way weaker than they seem (or own players better, just the way it's programmed).
Anyone who actually has time to test or check this in some way? I'm in the middle of my exams so it's just the incidental race for me now.

And here I'm sitting, having a 77 SP guy, who can't beat 71 SP guys on easy.
