There we go. Vote for the culture of a songcontest, vote for SDP representing Germany once again in foreign language. Of course, as always a song that has some deep lyrics. I'd also love to invite you to watch the full video, because it offers a good picture of what the song is about even if you don't know the lyrics.
They saved the best for last it seems at at DSC with the level of competition in this second semi final which had its final dress rehearsal tonight inside the Amsterdam ArenA. The opening to tonight's show was a colourful homage to this season's theme of ‘A World Of Difference’ which was performed by BLØF.
The perfect show opener from San Marino.
However the real show kicked off right from the start with the opening act which was the offering from San Marino. The song ‘Machine’ is a Cranberries-style song with cross-genre influences and an abnormal yet infectious chorus. Power is one word that describes this number well with the lead singer in control throughout the whole performance, if it's hitting the LED cues or running around on stage like a real punk performer, she nails it. It is all very kooky and odd, but it fits so well with this song and this performer. It sets the scene for what is a phenomenal semi-final - watch out for San Marino in the final as well.
Dean Lewis could be the man for Australia.
During the middle segment of the semi-final, there were some outstanding songs including Australia's indie ballad. 'It is like a gritty take on Shawn Mendes' according to one of the DSC producers. The performance is very dark and intimate with close and low camera shots, the performance grabs the viewer from start to finish, taking them on a story. As the song builds, the LED background builds, as does the singer's confidence. This was a little breath of fresh air in the running order and it could easily take Australia back to the final and maybe back to the top 5.
Blossoms are bringing Versailles to The Dam.
Later in the show we came across France, a country that has won 2 semi-finals in the past, but have never managed to reach the top 10 in the new system. Their entrants Blossoms are here to change that with their old-sound throwback number 'Charlemagne'. It is an interesting song which has a very different style to the usual DSC song, even this is presented in the stage show which has a retro camera filter and LED light show. This is the latest France have ever performed from in a post-edition #5 DSC show which gives good signs about the producers' confidence in the song. It's hard to tell whether the DSC voters will fall for Blossoms or leave them with nothing.
Is Kristian Kostov the man to take Ukraine back to the final?
Closing the show for the 2nd time in their short DSC career is Ukraine. They have moved away from their usual contestant Max Barskih and have opted for Bulgarian/Russian/Kazakh multi-national star Kristian Kostov. His song 'Ne Si Za Men' is a modern dance song which a catchy chorus and a quirky and modern stage show. LED projections, on stage doodles, camera effects and a whale all feature during this DSC closing performance. This may sound strange, but it is perfectly executed with Kristian hitting all his projector cues (there's a projected version of him and the song's lyrics throughout the song). He is another young performer, at the age of just 17, Kristian could be a future DSC star if he continues with this kind of form.

We made it, Amsterdam! We made it through 16 wonderful acts, but now the tension will be raised because it is time for you to decide who goes through to the final and to second chance. Who will your vote go to? Just rank your top 10, with 12 points going to your favourite, 10pts to your second favourite,
8pts to 3rd all the way down to 1pt in order to save the chances of your favourite entries.
I have to say that I was really tempted to give 12 points to Gambia. At least the "song" is original. But as a Imagine Dragons fan i had to give England my 12
Ireland is honoured to be the one opening the show in Amsterdam,
However we will not publicly show or vote of Semi-Final 1.
so here are the Ireland Votes of Semi-Final 2
1 Point for: Kenya, Good effort, but the competition was too high
2 Points to: Australia, nice song but some were better
3 Points is: Zweden, great artist, not her best song
4 Points will be: Finland, Solid song for finland
5 Points goes to: Nigeria, nothing to complain, but not the best
6 Points Going to: Italy, great song, but their neighbour was better
7 Points will go to: San Marino, was just better then italy
8, 10 and 12 points will go to:
Spoiler
10 Points for: New Zealand - What a song, unfortunately 1 was better
Spoiler
8 Points will be: Columbia - Would've got 12 points but you can't win from the classic of Latvia
Tip for listening to X-Kid. If you like fast songs, you can put the speed on 1.25 and it sounds like a faster punk song. Normal is more straight rock and roll, and .75 I guess would be good if you're on a lot of narcotics.
Also, the fan made video Green Day posted on their YouTube channel is actually pretty cool, so I'd recommend checking it out if you appreciate the videos.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Huh. I quite fancied my chances, to be honest. Have you double-Czeched the results?
No, seriously- I am yet to qualify for the final since the format has been introduced, but the DSC has always been a favourite of mine. Looking forward to the final!
