I think in the sprint stages he was working for Degenstache, so not riding for his own chances. No idea about the prologue though

Agree. I have expected more from Felline as well. Dont know what happened with him.
GVA is not on his top form but he is climbing well (yesterday came home quicker than Sagan) and he likes hard and long stages so maybe he could be there. Maybe even Gilbert could fight for the win
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Was Felline at an altitude training camp before the race? That can sometimes mess with a riders form.

Yes he was with Contador at Teide.

Peloton just passed Sion 3 minutes ahead of time table. No riders could break away yet.
Edit: Still no break away at 13:00.

At the foot of the climb to simplon there is a break away with 6 riders: Kamyshev, King, Wallays, Bewley, Nordhaug and Asselman. Gap: 5:35 |

Apparently a flat, non-technical run in so hopefully it doesn't get messy.

Degenkolb got taken out of that sprint pretty badly like three times. It's a shame, he was in very good position.

Albasini sniffing around Switzerland as per usual, really must learn to always put him in a Velogames team in Switzerland

If only Matthews had stayed on that wheel...might have been close(ish).

Sagan too easy, just taking matters into his own hands and is elimnating bad luck |

Easy for Sagan. 14th stage win in the race, and 7th year in a row with at least one win
