Great stage result by Würtz, which continues the trend of the Spotify team of punching above their own weight, I feel. Nice to see!
Also congratulations to the stage winner, which was to be expected looking at the stats. Though, winning by more than a minute is quite dominant. Also a great TT by Kudus compared to Herklotz, and it's difficult to see him loose this now. |

There goes the dream. Bad daily form at the worst possible moment. At least nobody can take green away anymore, unless a weird break goes the distance.

Oh how I would have loved it if it was not for the puncture on stage 8. Then Vasyliv would have likely been leading the race now, into the final interesting stage. Great TT result non the less. Final shot at a stagewin tomorrow, but all the stars will have to align in ordet to get that.
Lets finish this race by taking our 3rd podium in three years - still without a win though!

The battle between Kudus and Herklotz is so unbelievingly tight, looking forward to see the duel tomorrow.
Godoy advancing to 12th in GC which we are pretty happy with if he can hold on to it.
Thanks jph, amazing pace! |

What a close GC battle, amazing to be a neutral spectator on. Shirota looks like he can do no better than 11th in the GC, but I'm happy with that.

Very well ridden final stage by Vasyliv. Really too bad that a puncture likely costed him the overall win, or atleast 2nd place - But like I said, the GC win if we deduct those 3'28" lost in the "puncture stage".
No matter what, we can go away from the race with another GC podium, and we are happy to take Potocki with us in 6th. That is a very nice result for him also.
Now it will become a really difficult task finding another rider that can take a GC podium in the next season... But we will try, that's for sure!

Thanks a lot jph for doing the organization of Avenir and the steady reports!
Was a thrilling fight for the GC, which is nice to see. In the end the strongest won but Herklotz probably proved yet again to be the biggest prospect in that age category.
PCM just loves his stat combination and hence teh future looks bright for the German. |

Not the best race for us, but we tried. Too few breakaways in my opinion, but was fun riding together with Generali!
And thanks for the reports!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Great overall win by Kudus, but he didn't get it easy. Herklotz really showed the best of himself here, but it wasn't quite enough this time. Our Brazilian climber Caio Godoy with a nice and steady performance here. 12th in his first ever Tour de l'Avenir is a good result for him. Quite sure he will fight among the 10 best next year
Thank you for organizing and race this jph, it was a thrilling contest right until the end! |

Thanks for some great reporting.
As expected my guys didn't achieve much but at least the jersey was shown a bit and Hiski Kanerva proved stronger than the other stagiaires once again.
Mayho doing great for his "real" team is good to see as well - now I just hope he will show a little of the tenacity while wearing our jersey.

Great race and especially the reports!
Potocki with a decent race as a helper, especialy in the earlier parts of the race. Vasyliv was expected to become third and he got that podium place, so no trouble. Some good stage results for our sprinters. Shame that Laas lost his Top25 overall here.

De Leon moving to 13th in the final standings and helping Cataford just inside the top 10. Not a bad result for both of them. Major anonymous all race long.
Thanks jph for the reports and congrats FroomeDog

Very impressed by De Boss's performance, well above my expectation ahead of the race. He won't be a big rider but gives me hope he'll fill out the role as a good domestique nicely. Wolverine had flashes as well continuing a good debut year. Ewan slightly off the pace, but when he's part of his divisions best lead-out a dip was to be expected.
Awesome race from a neutral perspective, very close right up the end. Really enjoyable, Avenir always worth the extra time.

Damn, the bad legs in the TT cost us the win.
Nevertheless, Kudus is a deserved winner after impressively coming back from the crash. However, Herklotz can declare himself the winner in the "if deadlines actually meant anything" classification.
A stage win, a long stint in yellow, winning the points jersey and keeping within a minute of Kudus are all great achievements, confirming his current great form and his talent. Next year will be a year of learning for him again, hanging on in the GTs rather than dominating HC races and Avenir.
It's likely that we won't see this trio fight each other this closely ever again, so I want to thank Festina and Kenya for providing this great battle. Good luck with each of your future endeavours!
Big thanks to jph as well for putting great effort into this race despite it being only for fun. Thanks for very quick and very good reporting!

Same for us!
Bloody hell, this has been a simply epic race, no other terms can describe this. Exactly what I hoped would happen when we chose the route... the last 4 stages had me on the edge of my seat!
So congratulations to FroomeDog, and thanks jph for covering this!

Yes! This Avenir has been an amazing race for our two riders (I won't count Loizou ) and topping it off with a win is something really special, needless to say that's the first ever win for Veyhe and I'm willing to bet his only ever in the mountains. so taking that in Avenir is really special.
Was a great GC race as well, congrats Froomedog on Kudus' big comeback to win the White jersey! Was an epic race for the GC, thank you very much for reporting it Jph!

Good race for the Azteca team guys, none of my riders specifically even close but they weren't expected to be either. Throw some cobbles into this race at some point then we can see how things go.

Nice effort from Shirota but couldn't get all the time needed back to get into a Top 10, but 11th is still nice!
Thanks for the great reports jph!
