Not much to celebrate for Lierserali in the last 2 stages I'm afraid, and I doubt it's gonna improve as we near the mountain stages! Thanks for the reports, jph!

Too bad for Kudus. Maybe this was the punishment for the late nomination?
Attentive riding by Silvio. Not pushing above his weight, but making sure no minor GC threat gained time on him while keeping Vasyliv under control. Potocki as the third best climber up there a minute behind already.
38 points to Enger is a bit much with him overperforming today, but 4 mountain stages and a TT (I dont think he'll be fresh enough there) still are enough opportunities.

Nice to see page get a podium on stage 2.
Stage 4 didn't go to plan, but at least Kung is consistent with his season so far and still manages to find a way to throw it away.
On the rare occaision he's looked strong this season he's crashed or had a mechanical every time then done nothing the rest of the race. Every other race he's been dropped before he should have been.
Now to see how he'll mess up the remaining stages.

Catching up after a busy couple of days I was horrified to see an exploding (and not in a good way) Kraftwerk lead out for Zabel in stage 2
A combination of relief and joy welcomed Zabel's win in stage 3, we didn't let him down again
Great to see Politt in the break in stage 4, not sure how to develop him, stage hunter perhaps?

I don't really see another option than TTer. Fighter doesn't add enough valuable stats to make up for the loss in TT, and any other option leaves him without any outstanding stat at all.
Too bad he wasn't added with the versatility he has in reality.
His rouleur+TTer+cobbler skills could be very interesting. Mini-Cance style.

Thanks cio, very helpful to a noob
Great to see Kudus overcoming his crash-fest.

This race is shaping up to be really exciting! Only 2 seconds dividing Vasilyiv and Herklotz and everyone else is close enough to be in contention. Can't wait to see how the main contenders will fare in the next stages.

And as fast as that, the crash doesn't matter anymore. What a trio!
Doesn't look easy to keep Kudus in check now. We need to gain time again before the last stage.
I hope this ridiculously hard stage has taken enough out of the sprinters to put Herklotz up the order tomorrow. It's very important to have taken yellow, as that will ensure good AI there. (plus it's a dream come true for Puma, valuing talent development over everything else)

What a great stage! Also great result from Moscon, I had no idea he could do this.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Milos certainly struggling at 40minutes back on that stage... Looks like we'll have to wait another year to see him shine!

Brilliant and brave defense of the yellow jersey by Holst Enger on stage 4. Also Ludvigsson seemed to punch well above his weight, which is cool to see. A very good stage for the team, even taking a very surprising lead in the teams competition.
Also a good stage 5 for Spotify with Würtz trying his luck with a very late breakaway. Impressive to see him be part of the bunch at that point.
Thank you a lot for the detailed reports, jph27, and also the pace they're coming at. Truly enjoyed that mountain stage. |

Meiji as a team has been riding very well. Shame Mohoric lost the lead, but I have to say, Shirota has been riding very well and sits in the Top 10 which would be a very good result for him imo.

Potocki still on fine form, putting the hurts on everybody for Vasyliv...also Laas with some decent work
now that Vasyliv has beaten Herklotz again he only has to do it once more on a MTF and we ahead again - if it only wasn't for the giant which is Merhawi Kudus, what a race!

Great to see Kudus right back in the game, and back as the race favorite. That's definately good for the race.
Vasyliv on a very strong stage here, punching above his weight in the final against Herklotz.
And Potocki, wow! What a great performance, being 5th in the GC at this point.

Veyhe's amazing sprint, the next Bewley for sure.
Nice to see the team putting guys in the break now, was a good job by Skala.
Thanks Jph for another nice report!

Good to see we finaly go in the breaks, well done Boudat. Bonifazio did well to try a different sprinting style, as the normal way won't work against Zabel, Enger and Ewan (how are they still allowed to ride anyway?).
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Cool with Kudus back in it!
Herrera and Godoy is within top-20 now and I expect they can keep that position.
Seid and Farantakis is doing okay in the sprints too, but I just miss something spectacular from any of the guys really.
Thank you for good reporting in fast pace jph! |

A ride in Ewan's slipstream would've yielded an even better result, but it's not like there's such a thing as "Ewan's slipstream"
32 points in 4 stages, that'll certainly be interesting. Time to use your descending now, Silvio!

Incredible win for Kudus to get back into the race. His crashes were unlucky but that's exactly how to bounce back with a dominant ride.
Great to see Kemboi finishing 4th as well on the flat. Will be a great rider one day once maxed. |
