Vuelta a Colombia Discussion

Shame Madrazo had to let go at the end, but still a good result because of the time won on Spilak and Tenorio.

The gaps have been huge so far and any difference created in two mountain stages can definitely be undone in another two mountain stages. So we'll have to stay sharp and consider the entire current top 5 as contenders for the win.

That was an awkward train, but the fact that it WAS a train gave us this podium in the first place.

Pre-race (before all the DNFs), I wouldn't have hoped for a third place here; looking at the sprint prep, third nearly seems like a bad outcome.
Overall that still makes for a satisfying result since I value pre-race expectations much higher in the bigger picture. Plus we lost to the two actual sprinters left, nothing to be ashamed of.

I hope Arndt will stay just as attentive the last two stages and maybe keep his GC spot. Bongiorno should at least try something, he's been useless here so far.

Nothing much to report here. Spilak stayed at the front, but didn't really contest the sprint. Great result for Bouygues here, again. Also Red Bull got a better result than they could have anticipated pre-race. Some good points in the relegation battle.

Thank you for another report and the consistency they come with, roturn.

Good to see Guldhammer attentive close to the front in the final kilometers, hopefully a sign that stage 3 simply was a day off. Fingers crossed he uses the freedom his GC placing should give, and try his breakaway luck on the upcoming stages. The dream scenario would be to see him do a Keizer, I guess Pfft

Bouygues having some amazing stages, congratulations again!

Velits 6th in a sprint stage, that is the weirdest result ever. Grin

Wow this race isn't going as planned at all! Porsev was our man for the 4th stage but unfortunately didn't make the cut at the 3rd stage, at least Kolesnikov tried to sprint.

Kritskiy already 10 minutes behind, maybe Kolesnikov and Kritskiy can still do something the last two stages...

Still nothing from Bongiorno, although he put us further up in the teams classification now. Arndt and Nerz did well to not get caught out.

Keep this up one more day and I'm happy with this race. That monster climb tomorrow worries me though.

Hello,

I'Am looking for a link to download Vuelta a Colombia.
I want to add to my game (PCM 2016).
Do you have a link ?
Thanks for all.

YES Grin Very strong final climb by Madrazo, grabbing a stage win, the yellow and the green. This is a great position to be in.
Tomorrow is the big day though. That final climb looks terrifying and Angel can't afford a moment of weakness with Taaramäe breathing down his neck. Also Zordan and Tratnik abandoning today means we have only Formolo, Agudelo and Konrad left to defend the jersey. This might become a very exciting stage!

Tratnik out Sad but great to see his leader taking the jersey...go Madrazo, go Gazelle!

Congrats DD Smile - Happy to see Madrazo finally proving his stats.

Spilak atleast managed to stay with the frontgroup today, but worst in the 5 man group definately isn't very good. I can only hope he doesn't fuck it up worse in the final stage. 3rd in the GC is underwhelming from the highest rated rider in the database. He really should do better.

Piter Campero dropped from 19th to 23rd is also a bit sad. Not because there's all that many points in it, but I'd like to see him perform a top 20. Oh well, atleast Bouygues left us the Team GC for now. Let's hope we can defend it without having to work too hard. We need more points from this race if we are to win the ranking.

I love seeing Cattaneo this high. I thought it was a horrible decision to let a rider 79TT and 70HI ride a race like this, but it seems to be a wise decision. Even Keizer seems to be scoring what could be expected by now.

Well done Madrazo, congratulations, DubbelDekker!

Guldhammer back to normal, which is kind of a relief, but it's unfortunate that he stays passive, as it gives us literally no points, which makes this race a complete miss in terms of the rankings. It's nice to see Galta being consistent though, fighting for a top 30. It's looking difficult to manage, but I'v got to hope he comes up with a great final day.

Also Keizer back to doing his thing, I won't be surprised to see him have a go at it again at the final stage. Good to see him make the most out of it, even after his failure on the first mountain stage.

Upps.

But there you have your little Kritskiy mentions. Pfft

Absolutely stunning final stage with lots of big guns going early. It`s really weird to watch Keizer in those kind of races. Too bad for the first mountain stage. Having a big gap then here and already in the Tour de France then awakes his motivation it seems and from then on he just goes crazy.
Point wise he is pure gold for me (and I even considered to trade him this off-season...but seeing how he continues to perform with those long breaks and KoM hunts...it`s a tough thing to do really).

Those 4 mountain stages are incredibly tough and having them on 6 days only, recovery plays a big role as well. So it`s some kind of biggest climbing event of the season in the PT it seems.

Congrats DD for the Madrazo win, finally he is back on top step again after lots of underperforming. Being followed by Spilak is just fair. I-Gen likely made the title here. Can`t see them losing it now.

Crazy stage.

Great job to win the teams classification, but that isn't really making up for losing some GC places, 4 riders to the time limit, and lots of ranking points to Aegon and Tinkoff compared to yesterday's GC.
I thought 79 mo would be perfect for the kind of feats we saw today, but apparently it's even too low. Not a single breakaway attempt is pretty disappointing.

Question time: we only have 4 riders finishing the race. Does that mean we lose out on 5 points from the teams classification win?

Thanks roturn for great reporting as usual (how often did you restart?), congrats to Gazelle and SotD for important points.

Despite of gaining a spot in the GC, it was still a bad stage. Campero lost a lot, also dropping in the U25. Novak dropped aswell, while we lost the Team GC and three riders in the proces. So we lost more than we gained.

Congrats to Gazelle, Aegon an Puma who all got great results here.

Velits clearly not good enough to be a competitor in this competition. Sad!

Congrats to DD and SotD, the clear and biggest winners here.

That is actually a very relevant question. I also have just 4 riders finishing the race. Is those points awarded to the last rider of the team to abandon, are the 4 best riders awarded the final points, are they going to a Rider X, that doesn't exist or what do we get? I have a bunch of statistics, so It's relevant for me also Smile

I might have to ask SN about it.

But just from a logical point of view you two only get 4x the points instead of 5.
Makes sense if the rule says your 5 highest placed GC riders and you only have 4. Wink

Hence for now cio by 5 and you by 4 points reduced from your maximum. So I doubt it has big impact anyway in the final rankings.
