I'm stuck with the Czechs.
Having said that, I couldn't get anywhere with the Greeks, and, well...
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

Welcome to the 9th Daily Song Contest which will be held in Athens - the world's oldest city! We have crossed yet another border south to the banks of the Mediterranean after Foals took home the DSC trophy to Greece. As we have come to the world's oldest city the theme of this edition is 'Our Roots', a philosophy the head of the DBU wanted to share with the DSC audience, "the DSC is a celebration of diverse music and diverse people. We should go back to our roots and celebrate ourselves for who we really are.". This season's DSC will be the 9th edition, there were 9 muses of Greek mythology, can your act become the 10th?
The Nikos Galis Olympic Indoor Hall has hosted some of this century's greatest Olympians, who will get the DSC gold medal?
Selection Process & The Contest
The rules of the contest are the same as in the 8th edition in Skopje (2 semi-finals, second chance and the grand final), but for any newbies here's the low down: you have to choose a song which is affiliated to a country (it can stem out to grandparents), post it here, and then you are signed up! All you need to do then is watch the shows and vote for your favourites. You have until 2nd March 2017 to sign up for the contest. Read below to find out more rules about the submissions...
Regarding the contest, we will have semi-finals, so the we will be running on the same format as the last edition. These will take place in the week building up to the Grand Final on Saturday 11th March. The semi-finals will split the competitors in 2, and then they will compete to make their way through to the final on Saturday (the amount of finalists is to be determined when the sign up is complete). The top acts will go direct to the final, but as they did last time the acts who sit in the middle will go to the Second Chance Round where the songs will duel for the final places in the final, the amount that will go to the second chance will be higher than last season however.
The stage in Athens will be a blank canvas for the artists but for the first time in DSC history there will be a live orchestra.
Rules
So the rules are the same as usual,so semi-final voting is done anonymously (but will be published after the all the shows and results) and the qualifiers will be revealed in a random order. The finalists' countries, and the world jury, will have their points read out by a spokesperson, but the other votes will be combined together to make up the non-qualifiers vote (NQ Vote).
Rules for Participation:
1.
The singer/band MUST come your respective nation, but with a band, a single member can be enough, and some affiliation via parents or grandparents.
2.
The songs can be in any language, doesn't have to be in English.
3.
The songs MUST be under 10 minutes long.
4.
Voting will be done privately via PM to me (EwanWilson), using the usual Eurovision system (1-7 + 8,10 & 12) within the voting period.
5.
The following countries can enter on their own as I have declared them autonomous enough England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland etc. (PM me if you have a proposal for a new country)
6.
There is NO rules regarding age, therefore any age can participate in the DSC.
7.
Winning songs of the actual Eurovision can NOT enter (F.E Jamala - 1944), but all other Eurovision related entries are welcome (F.E Francesco Gabbani - Occidentali's Karma or Benjamin Ingrosso - Good Lovin' ).
The Acropolis will be visible from the DSC arena.
