Welp, I definitely didn't expect that one! That might be one of the first times we've made a train all season, even when we've had 3 77+ sprint guys in the roster. Instead, we come at them with a stagiare, a puncheur, an incredibly inconsistent sprinter, and we actually do it!
I'll admit, seeing Garby working on the front made me want to chuck something at the screen. Flat out ridiculous. It's not like his flat is much of a help anyway. That being said, it seemed to work. I just hope he didn't do so much to detriment his GC chances later on.
Great report Roturn! Those are the kind of stages I brought Docker for, and I'm glad he's actually pulling through for once!

Manan did the right thing in picking the podium ambition train to follow as it's normally the strongest but he must not have realised it wasn't their A team here or that those present would be disrupted as much.
He still managed to get a top 10 out of the stage though so he managed to limit damage with a decent sprint which makes me think he would have been top 3 or top 5 had the train he followed worked as well as it normally does.

Its been an ok start for us, no surprise that we cant really do anything in the sprints, but now its time for Tvetcov to tear it up when we hit those speedbumps again!

OK job from Salinas in the damage control department whilst Hirschlein just went above and beyond to stay in the top 15 (!). Now to make up some ground towards that top 5 and grab a stage win somewhere along the way, at the very least.

funny how it looks like we loose our direct promotion hopes by Chiquita having a surprisingly stunning ride again Carlsberg and Chiquita are gone if nothing overly surprising happens, we have to look back now...
Martinez with a stunning season

Disappointing to see Zoidl miss out on the stage win in the TT but it is nice to see the GC spread out a little as if he avoids losses on the hills, where he has been aggressive and actually gaining time in races earlier in the season, then he should have a decent chance of hanging on for a top 10 GC on the remaining mountain stage.
Chiquita really smashed the TT and their riders must have had a good day there, and if De La Cruz wasn't already the GC favourite then he definitely is now, I'd say Tvetcov should finish second now but the fight for the final podium spot will be interesting, can Martinez hold on and can Garby destroy the field enough to get back in contention. I guess I've got to hope Garby settles for the stage win instead of destroying the field and leaving everyone strung out down the mountain with massive gaps between them.

Last year Haga won the TT for us, now it's Martinez! Also great ride by Kinney, but slightly disappointing for Barton.
Martinez now also in the GC lead, but the small gap to De La Cruz will be difficult to maintain. But getting a podium out of this race would be a great achievement! Looking forward to the upcoming stages!

Congrats to BBO and Marco for the stage wins, good points for the promotion fight.
Happy with Hacecky limiting his losses in the TT and staying in the top 10. Top 5 place is wide open now, will be an interesting few stages.

Ffs every single stage race in this division has this long TT. I guess that's my own fault for Garby being so one dimensional. It's pretty much impossible for him to gain back any time when the mountain stages end in field sprints, and the TT's decide everything. Meanwhile, Garby completely bonks when he really shouldn't have. His TT is 68, which is poor for a stage racer but actually upper half, and he's a GC contender. That alone should be enough for his ride to have been better. But it wasn't and now we're screwed.
We don't even have the white jersey at this point and the gap is big. We're not coming back. Now the next two stages are rated as hilly even though the profiles, especially stage 6 are clearly mountainous, so look for more losses there as the mtn/hill ratio must just be wrong.
I am so stupid for putting any faith and development into this rider. He has too many shortcomings and PCM is too stupid to capitalize on his strengths. If him working yesterday contributed to losing this much time today, I wanted the head of Eyolfur or whoever Cyanide have working there these days on a pike.

Two Top 10s isn't bad. Torckler's showing a turn of speed I didn't think he had in him.

To be fair on Garby. He only workd in the final kilometers, which is quite regular for GC riders with sprinters. Keizer did so a lot in the Tour de France just like König or Faiers.
I also saw riders such as Tenorio, Morton and so on working in those final kilometers. It`s not like they are used from early on. So his "work" shouldn`t have impacted his TT result. |

Another exciting stage in 'Merica. For the first time in months WCC had a rider listed in the top half of the pundits pre-race favourites round-up, and Rodriguez Galindo delivered an excellent performance to reward this faith. Falls short of a victory (congrats to Tvetcov and Yorkshire), but a worthy 2nd place and in achieving that, detonates the race at the bottom of the finishing climb. Moves nicely into the top 10 GC now, whereas our other potential threats invested all eggs in the R-G basket, so now all-for-one, and one -for-all!
A little off topic, but I note once more the amount of time that Roturn continues to invest in MG commitments, again reporting multiple races at once. Chapeau to you sir!

Well, it was always gonna be tough to defend the GC lead. Podium still within reach which is great!
Thanks (as always) to Roturn and congrats ryant!

Congrats to ryant, training paying off, hope he can hang on for a good gc place.
Hacecky is behind his support rider now so not looking as good for a top 5.

Decent stage by Zoidl. It looks like decided to conserve energy today instead of attacking himself and just picked the wrong wheel to follow up the climb.
One more hillly stage tomorrow before the mountain stage where he has a minute and a half advantage in his battle to defend a top 10 spot, at this point a better result is a bonus.

Well, I'm glad Tvetcov has got a win from this, a podium in the GC seems to be probable, which is good for us if we want to finish in the top 10 by the end of the season.
Keep it up!
