UCI do a nice summary of the previous months Continental calendar-ish. Worth glancing at
Not really news, more a reminder of lower level racing and that the UCI isn't entirely useless.

Tour of Turkey organizators are in talks with UCI for delaying the race from April to September. The bid for the Tour of Turkey is not complete yet and 3 months left to the race start. (source is me lol)

Tour of the Alps route announced. 5 mountain stages in a row reflects the name of the race pretty good. Overall, its actually a very well designed route. Race will be broadcasted and will definitely be one of the highlights of the spring for me! |

I assume this is some form of Norwegian humour
The only way he could "return" would be as a director or coach or TV Pundit (Which I assume he already does somewhere).
He's 39 years old and hasn't raced at the highest level for 3 years. Hasn't ridden a grand tour since 2012, which he didn't finish. He also doesn't have a team. An actual return would be impossible at this point.

Geraint Thomas heading for the giro with the goal of a podium.. Should be interesting to see how sky will deal with his leadership alongside Mikel Landa

No. It was first thought that Poels was going to the Giro, but he's focusing on Paris nice and the ardennes. And then the Tour. But giro is Landa and Thomas. But with team sky history in recent Giro gc I won't be expecting much.

Sky have been unlucky with the Giro, Wiggins crashed out in 2013, Porte was in 3rd place in 2015 when he abandoned due to IMO some terrible rules by the UCI and then Konig had to fill in for 6th in that edition. While last year so Mikel Landa fall sick I believe and Nieve won a stage and the mountain's jersey. They can break their curse surely this year.
Poels shouldn't focus on Paris-Nice as Richie is going to win it |

I was joking btw, Poels will do well of course especially if that's a goal for him. |

It wasn't all bad luck, even if Wiggins didn't crash he wasn't going to be a contender in that Giro, his motivation was lacking and he would of had his arse kicked in the high mountains. Porte wasn't bad luck either, he blatantly broke the rules and explain to me how it is a stupid rule? Even if it was a stupid rule it still was a rule so you abide by it, also after that he could of kept fighting for a high place in the GC but he didn't. Landa I agree was bad luck but Landa does seem fragile when it comes to his health so I hope he's sorted that out this season.
As far as Thomas goes, he might keep pace for a while but if Sky go all in for him then they won't be winning, podium or have a high GC in this Giro, Thomas is a quality rider but he's not a real Grand Tour contender and this looks to be a quality Giro.

It's not just about luck. It's also mentality. Sky just don't take Giro seriously..they are and will be ..all out for TdF team.
If Landa wins Giro..fine. Still ..we have tour to ride and win there. |

It's not that they don't take it seriously..its the fact that other teams focus a lot more on the giro, they make months of preparation for it's and sky doesn't have all that focus like Bahrain or lotto jumbo

Yesterday the UCI released 38-pages of guidelines for the race convoy. 38 pages! And yet somehow the UCI in it's epcial way has made them incredibly vague, unspecific and open to interpretation, whilst also failing to address the key issues and CPA recomendations.

UCI takes action on a serious issue, good. Failes to actually solve the problem, not good. Classic UCI
