just again realized how dumb UCI is...
Arndt got 300 points for winning CEGORR
Meyer got 215 for coming 3rd
Rowe got 120 for coming 5th
How can the difference between 3rd and 5th be higher (95) than the one between 1st and 3rd (85)? Stupid UCI strikes again...

You know, I wonder if dessert-torture-state-Merida's Colbrelli's crash at the last roundabout was karma...
Though you gotta give the guy credit for his name.
Sonny Colbrelli. Like from a Leone movie.
Anyhow. Congrats to Kittel. |

They clearly had a mistake in the system. In the new WT races, the points are like this: 1º 300 2º 250 3º 215 4º 170 5º 120 6º 115 7º 95. Fifth place should be rewarded with 140 points, not 120.
I saw this error when they released the 2017 regulations

Danny Van Poppel takes the first stage of the Herald Sun Tour which was a 2.1 k prologue in central Melbourne. Second was Brenton Jones with ALex Frame in 3rd. The race really gets underway tomorrow with the first road stage a MTF on Falls Creek (29.8 k @3.9% 1164m vertical gain) so expect to see Froome and Chaves come out to play.

The only rider I can see capable of beating Kittel in a drag-race is Gaviria and he is on his own team. Its really not fair for the competition. Greipel is too old and not fast enough anymore and Cav has got to time it to perfection against Kittel this upcoming season I reckon. |

Damien Howson takes the win on the Falls Creek MTF at the Sun Tour from Jai Hindley with Kenny Elissonde coming in 3rd. Howson and Elissonde went away together with 15 k's to go on the climb with Howson hitting Elissonde with 3 k's to go to take the win, Hindley came through in the last 2 k's to take second from a tiring Elissonde. Froome had a few digs earlier in the stage but they came to nothing, he might have been testing the legs for the final hilly stage of the race.

Looks like decent stage, but that climb was never going to separate Froome and Chaves. To easy to wheelsuck on low gradients. |

Froome did attack but that was before the climb started, it was a good stage and it's good to see Hindley, Storer and Hamilton continue the good run of form they've had, all 3 are promising young climbing/GC types.

Allegations and elbows (?) fly in a desert storm of crosswinds in Dubai:
Broke up but subsequnetly slowed and regrouped as Kittel got medical attention.

I smell a big controversy in this situation, Lefevre is already steaming and if Kittel doesnt win it Will be worst.

Van Rensburg goes early Degenkolb pips him for the win - first win since the mass accident? Great to see him back either way.
Edit apologies thought he looked too upright for Cab on my tiny screen but took Twitter's word for it.

Nope. He won a stage late last season in Arctic Race of Norway.

Nice first win for Degenkolb in his new team.
Ian: It was Janse van Rensburg that Dege just edged out!
