After a week of submissions, the semi-finals are just about upon us and the build up to the live show is underway, rehearsals have started and the artists are ready! With a new system in place, the semi-finals are more important than ever. The host broadcaster (MRT) randomly drew the semi-final in which every song will compete in. From this the DSC's producers formulated a running order...
Given the standard of dance pop, IMO, that has 'graced' this competition in the past, I can't see why this hasn't got a chance.

And that's it! 16 performers have sung for us tonight here on stage, but now you've got the power to change the outcome of this competition. The phone lines are now OPEN for 2 days until Tuesday 6th December, and by that time we will reveal the 7 countries going direct to the final and the 4 that will go to the new second chance round. To vote, you should send 1 to 7pts for your 10th to 4th favourite entries, and then 8, 10 and 12pts to your top 3 songs of the semi final. But just to remind you all of the songs tonight, here's a recap.

I thought I should clarify what the second chance round is all about as the results will be revealed in the coming days. 8 acts will make it to the second chance round, 4 from each semi-final, the performers who finished in places 8-11 in their shows. In the second chance round the acts will be paired together to form a duel. The participating delegations then will have the chance to choose their winners in each of the 4 duels by voting through a Google Form. The 4 duel winners will make it into the final of the 8th DSC on Saturday.

For some smart advertising: The Song Rückspiegel by Maxim is once again an untypical contestant in this DSC. After the sweet success of Gloria we decided to send another German band with a native song. This time again a song full of strong feelings about missed opportunities in life and how you regret to not have grabbed them when they were possible.
