Bronze for Tommeke is nice for his last WC, but Belgium deserved gold.. well, at least for the race of 240km. The last 10-15km were just really uninspiring to say the least. No plan b at all. Good that Sagan kept us from Cav in rainbow jersey, Sagan just had so much more power than anyone else there.
Cav was the quickest in the sprint. He just had to ease off, because he got blocked.

Hell of a Worlds race! Splits, crosswinds, late attacks and a great sprint. Happy with that podium (shame Cav isn't Gold ) but what a way to end the season.

Sagan is asked one question and he tells the whole story of his life.

And what about Slovakia, with just few guys in the race, three were in the front group for a while, later one was dropped but Kolář was awesome.

See Hagen. Hagen was useless. Worse lead-out man ever. Oh my god |

Well a 5th place warrants custom kit in the worlds. Against the best in the world on a very hard race in heat and cross winds I'd say that is pretty good. And now noone can complain about his kit. |

Tom Leezer as the World Champion would have been so much more awesome.
Would have been tragic.
What was Belgium doing. Thinking Boonen could win against those guys straight up. |

You dont deserve gold when you have six guys in the group of 20 and not get better than bronze, sorry mate.

I assume 13th by Berhane is the best ever WC result for an African?
What a result, especially for a pure climber. You would've made a heck of a fortune with that bet.

Chtioui finished on the podium in the U23 race once. But in pro's that is best ever I think

As I said, they deserved Gold for the first 240 km. For the last 10km they should have gotten nothing and should be slammed by the belgian media too. Bronze is an okay-ish mix of both. Sagan as a rider was great, but Slovakia really didn't do anything at all for the race itself up to the last kilometers.

All those GTs back-to-back warrant his custom shoes
