I'll be very interested to see how well the Euro's establish themselves as a big event in Elite cycling. They've done well this year having been shifted right back in the season to this dead period post-Vuelta and pre-Worlds. If they were back in their August slot i wonder what the turnout would be. It's been fun though and gives us a nice look at how everyone is shaping up form wise ahead of Doha.

The problem is though that with this years abysmal WC route, EC was like a WC for prototpical WC-type of rider. When the return to more regural WC route is made, I just don't think that national teams are gone send their strongest squads to a race so close to WC. |

I hope this becomes an event of prestige. Ofc. it will never rival WC or OL (and it shouldn't). But I hope it can attract the top riders every year. |

I don't quite agree with that. While the starlist was nice, it was still really lacklustre for a 'WC'-race. |

It was a nice race tho, but I wonder where it is going to fit in in a normal year without Olympics and WC in Doha... |

<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 Good to see Esteban ready for Lombardia with a nice win, if Yates and Yates are there could be an amazing thing to see the trio racing together in a monument, even if Yateses were one of many DNFs today Definitely expect two in top 10 and to build on his 8th, such a fork could be an lite Etixx classics situation except no leader expected to win and hopefully better tactics Aaand I'm getting too hyped. CHAVES!

Lopez winning in Milano - Torino. A real shame he crashed out of the Vuelta

Not too sure. He must still learn a lot and I am not even sure if he is more a GT climber or rider for hilly one day races/stage races.
Imo he could even be better for the hilly stuff.
Great to see Woods in 2nd! With Uran just behind, this is excellent result for Cannondale. |

Considering Urán most likely was the strongest rider in the race, it really wasn't that good. One of the favourites for Lombardia along with Chaves, Bardet and Aru. |

Groenewegen wins the Tour de l'Eurométropole (single day race now), I felt a DSQ was in order (even though he's in my fantasy team ) as he really blocked Naesen.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Bouhanni wins Tour de Vendée, but I didn't understand why Samuel Dumoulin celebrated for a second place...

Metropole-thing was a pretty fucking good race actually. Unfortunately Gaviria didn't win, I think he crashed earlier, but he was empty at the end. Gronewegen really should have been DQ, but Naesen's own fault for track standing in the break. |

Look I'm not sure if Groenewegen should have been DSQ'd or not for the sprint but Naesen should only be mad at himself the way he raced the last 2 kilometers or so. I'm too much of an emotional and biased person to ever be a judge of anything, but jesus if I were I would definitely let the Dutchie take the win.
You just don't do your best track cycling impression when you're not 100% sure of not getting caught. The level of idiocy all 3 reached there was unseen, but Naesen really managed to stand out.
