Why?
I also dislike seeing races get decided by TTT but at least they didn't cancel the GC relevant stage unlike T-A and change the whole GC. |

There's no way it's gonna be decided by the TTT alone. Stage 7 is definitely going to rewrite the rankings from top to bottom as it always did in the last years.

Well it is all or nothing Sunday. Best Sagan or anyone else in the GC can hope for is the Golden km. or in Sagan's case the top 3 on the stage. From what i can see on the profile, tommorow is the last day for the sprinters (One would think they had already had their share, but oh well...)
I think this route would have been fine, even with the semi long TTT, but tommorow needed to be a challenging stage like the one we have on Sunday. I think that's where the big mistake is, we need one more stage for the classics boys instead of another sprinter stage. |

Depends how they race it I think. If Etixx play all their cards and some of the other guys (Wellens, Boom, Geraint Thomas osv.) light thinks up with some hard attacks from further out, surely both Dennis and Phinney will crack. But if everyone is looking at each other, who knows then. |

A stage like that doesn't need a hard race to cause gaps. I don't think Sagan will let the race slip out of his hands.

You really think he has it in his hands? 27 sec is no small feat against a guy like Dennis. Ofc. he is no classic specialist but still, he did show in Tour of Britain, that he climbs decent on those short ramps. |

You are right, and they pass it more than one time i believe, if they go full gas on it, Dennis will be in trouble. Still i think that Sagan could use a few bonus seconds from tommorows stage to get the gap down a bit, and distance himself further from Van Avermaet. Anyway it shapes up to be an exciting finish on the last day of the race. |

I would never ever compare climbs like Britain's hills and Flemish cobbled Muurs, especially when we're talking about the Kapelmuur and the Bosberg.
Just look at that profile, it truly looks like a March classic! Also note how the Golden KM is placed atop the Bosberg, clever shit right there.
But look, it's all speculation right here. I simply see no way someone like Dennis can even hang on a favorite's wheel. It's quite likely BMC are going to use most of their men to help GVA rather than Dennis, or Phinney - which depending on the shape and how many kilometers afar from the finish decides to attack - could be a threat.

Yeah i get your point, this will most likely be a showdown between Avermaet and Sagan, maybe with Etixx joining in with Stybar and perhaps playing Terpstra out in an attack from further out.

So today is the day we've all been waiting for
I'm not sure what i'll prefer, Dennis winning the race on the TTT or Avermaet wheelsucking Sagan to the line and grabing the win. (yes i know he is 100% allowed to do so, but still, it's anoying to watch)
Hoping for anything else than these two options. I hope for a brave effort from any rider, to snatch the overall, so far this has been a sprinter and a TT(T) fest. And i would hate for the overall winner to heavily reflect this. |

For Van Avermaet is not enough to wheelsuck Sagan. Sagan has 6 seconds on GVA, more than the difference bonus between 1º and 2º. He would need to drop Sagan, and i can't see that happening today.
Only chance that BMC or Etixx has to deny Sagan GC is to isolate him, using riders like Trentin, Stybar, Jungels, Quinziato, Phinney for making Tinkoff pull of the group |

He only needs a 2 second gap to Sagan. And they go up the Muur for the final, so it's possible for sure. |
