 KBC De Panne Tour | 2 cobbled | 1 flat | 1 ITT
The KBC De Panne Tour returns for its 6th edition with a familiar route - tough cobbles, a sprinter's (or break's) stage or two and a short ITT. We have one former winner here in  Summerhill, who is the top favorite yet again this year.

It really is a lottery - no really hilly cobbled stages for big gaps but with beats like the Oude Kwaremont in those first two stages the likes of Summerhill or Baugnies could thrive. Hoping for a milder race will be sprinter-cobblers Drucker, Van Asbroeck, Nepomnyachsniy, Theuns and Breschel, who could all be picked as likely candidates for the green points jersey as they can pick up points on all three of the first stages.
One of the only men hoping for a TT decider is Spartacus himself Cancellara, who'll be vying for the stage on day 4 as well as being far and away the best GC rider against the clock. Van Asbroeck and Drucker will also hope to be within striking distance of their rivals by the final day.
We could also see stage 3 shaking things up: it's short, flat and the peloton has an unfortunate history of misjudgment of the break: If the gap is too big some people 6-7 minutes down by then but who aren't sprinters could launch an ambush: think Gaudin, Taillefour or Bush.
But in the end it'll come down to the usual suspects, the cobblers. Being in this category too bodes well for Cancellara, whilst Summerhill or Baugnies, Vanbilsen or Zepuntke will hope or selective opening days. Thomas won't like the hills of day 1 or two despite being an able cobbler and contender in flatter races such as GP Herning. Franzoi is the second-best time triallist in this group.

Wild Simon Yates in our line-up, not sure why but probably just trying to use RD's 
Our main objective here is to outscore the other CT teams. If we can do that, again, on the Cobbles our title challenge will continue nicely. Thomas of course can do well on the opening two stages, and with Hristov and Grashev we've found some good form here. G will also be a possibility on stage 3 and could bag a couple more points. Lets just get some gains on the CT teams and anything else is a bonus

Hm a bit further down the startlist than usual, hopefully this doesn't change Strava's aggressive racing. I don't think a GC podium is within reach but some solid points can be earned well and maybe we get lucky.

Well there are no title contenders here so that shouldn't have an influence directly to outscore us 
Expecting at least some clean efforts by Drucker and Tennant do do something!

It was meant in a more general way, that if we can outscore the other CT teams then we've had a decent race and put some solid points on the board. I'm certainly not gonna compare myself against the PCT teams who can field riders we only dream of.

Little worried about Cancellara being here, as the time-trial will definitely give him some time. Not sure how much Summerhill will need to lead by to hold onto the overall after stage 4.
Obviously first we need to get him into the leader's jersey on days one and two though.

This is my 4 left over RDs for Vantomme race, stage 3 could come down to a break win, but at least it's not 70km, otherwise let's join some breaks.

This is where we need to score huge. At least a top 5 is what I expect from Teuinssen and possibly stage top 3s all around thanks to Theuns and Van Winden too. No way Spartacus isn't winning this?

I'd say this is Cancellara's race to lose. Then I checked his cobbled results earlier this season. Hopefully the cobbles aren't selective, otherwise getting a top-3 here will even be hard.

Yippie, so happy, Strava rewarded for fighting the good fight the past races and Baugnies with a lo-oonng earned win. Thanks for editing Baugnies fighter stat to 99, Jandal.  A gripping report, fantastic written with some great remarks and storytelling. Lol'd at the christ and prey lines.
With 5 guys in Top 15 we have certainly a good chance to keep the jersey until the TT.. Sky train all the way over the cobblez please! Cance should be out of the race for TT and if we keep him close, Summerhill is worse at time trilaing but what is important is that no break gets the better of us tomorrow, then anything is possible. At least the team classification looks to be ours after one day.

3 riders in the first bigger group is very decent, I have hoped for a higher finishing position than 9th though. If Oba hangs on this well on the second cobbled stage, he coulb be my top GC finisher with his TT stat. |

Hagen falling into a ditch, Vantomme surviving in the bunch to only finish 15th despite being the best sprinter, I'm quite pleased with the team today, now let's get a top 10 behind the break tomorrow!
