Ronde van Vlaanderen
The Ronde van Vlaanderen is one of the most iconic races in cycling history. And we'll see its 100th edition this year ! Once again, the best classics riders will be on the starting line in Brugge, before more than 250 kilometers through the Bergs, those paved hills that made this race so special and difficult.
| 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 2007 | Boonen | Hincapie | Van Petegem | 2008 | Hincapie | Burghardt | Boonen | 2009 | Boonen | Ballan | Gusev | 2010 | Boonen | Burghardt | Baugnies | 2011 | Ballan | Burghardt | Nuyens | 2012 | Boonen | Ballan | Cancellara | 2013 | Boonen | Bewley | Gusev | 2014 | Cancellara | Burghardt | Bewley | 2015 | Bewley | Burghardt | Blythe |
The reigning champion Bewley is of course back in Belgium to defend his title against his rivals. Burghardt is one of them. The german rider already finished five times on the podium, but at the 2nd place each time. Marcus is starting to get a bit older, and has here one of his last occasions to win this huge monument. The PCT team Azteca has been given a wild-card for this race only and not Paris-Roubaix, Summerhill will probably give everything to bring a lot of points to his formation. Apart from the big three of cobbles, other guys have the possibilities to create the surprise in Meerbeke. Van Avermaet never podiumed here, but has a solid team around him after he joined Evonik. Bpost have a strong line-up too, with Vanspeybrouck as the leader and Van Keirsbulck, Stallaert or even Boeckmans able to help him. It's difficult to analyse every team, but let's mention the talented kazakh Kamyshev, Vanbilsen who rides at home, Blythe, 3rd in 2015, the french Senechal, or even Gusev, who despite being 34 years old, is aiming for a third podium in the Ronde.
For you, here's an overview of the best cobble riders registered to this Ronde van Vlaanderen :
| Fl | Hi | Cob | Sp | | Fl | Hi | Cob | Sp | Summerhill | 78 | 73 | 83 | 70 | Bewley | 78 | 71 | 83 | 83 | Burghardt | 78 | 71 | 83 | 68 | Vanspeybrouck | 76 | 71 | 82 | 67 | Van Avermaet | 78 | 76 | 82 | 78 | Kamyshev | 77 | 65 | 82 | 66 | Senechal | 75 | 66 | 82 | 69 | Blythe | 76 | 66 | 82 | 76 | Vanbilsen | 78 | 69 | 80 | 72 | Nolf | 74 | 66 | 80 | 63 | Altur | 75 | 70 | 80 | 72 | Vanmarcke | 76 | 66 | 80 | 70 | Trentin | 74 | 74 | 79 | 75 | Fenn | 72 | 71 | 79 | 70 | Daniel | 73 | 69 | 79 | 76 | Ringheim | 72 | 67 | 78 | 73 | Kristoff | 75 | 68 | 78 | 83 | Van Keirsbulck | 72 | 71 | 78 | 70 | Lampaert | 75 | 66 | 78 | 60 | Veelers | 74 | 64 | 78 | 76 | Vandenbergh | 76 | 67 | 78 | 62 | Albert | 75 | 69 | 78 | 63 | Puccio | 72 | 66 | 78 | 60 | David | 74 | 75 | 78 | 70 | Gusev | 76 | 70 | 78 | 55 | Breen | 77 | 70 | 77 | 73 | Stallaert | 77 | 67 | 77 | 79 | Sinkeldam | 74 | 75 | 77 | 68 | Wisniowski | 78 | 70 | 77 | 71 | Verbist | 77 | 64 | 77 | 58 | Kluge | 78 | 68 | 77 | 77 | Insausti | 70 | 63 | 77 | 57 |

Olala, another monument already! Top 10 must be the goal with Kristoff, but he really needs to be good to make it, as 78 in cobbles obviously doesn't make him great, to be completely honest.
Bewley the usual favourite, but Summerhill, Van Avermaet and Senechal should give him a run for his money. Then quite a gap down to the 5th best cobbler, but it rarely plays out "mathematical", so let's hope for some action and surprises |

The hills should suit Boom a bit more. So top20 please.
Or at least some fair showing here by my boys. Expectations in any cobbles can`t be that high. |

Aaaah, De Ronde. Looking forward to this one. As usual, a top 10 is the goals here in the cobbled classics.

Calling it now, if PCM 15 cobbles will continue to act like they have so far, Bewley will win this in a bunch sprint. But he'll win in any case anyway. I gotta admit I was like wtf when he wasn't at the top 3 of the startlist I thought did Roman fuck this up but then I realised he was on the right, weird choice roro

This is the big one for us, Summerhill is as usual one of the favorites and it is time for him to stamp his authority on the monuments. Really think this will be the breaking point for Bewley finally though as GVA is possibly just too strong on the hills.
Edit: Stamina stat would also be really useful to know for this race.

Second monument, second most important race for Evonik throughout the year. Win goal and it nearly looks as if I expected to sign Van Avernaet preseason as it might be the best chance for Greg to beat Saint Sam in a cobbled classic all year.
1. Van Avermaet 2. Burghardt 3. Bewley is my only slightly optimistic prediction

Love this race, which makes it extra frustrating that I have such a weak cobble division this year. Top 20 would be nice.
GVA's skills are perfect for Vlaanderen, so I expect an end to Bewley's win streak.

Would be nice for Vandenbergh to show himself, but Roubaix suits him much more so that's the real target. Any points here would be great. |

Well, Bewley will probably dominate this one too.
Would probably be too optimistic to hope for a top result from Kamyshev given his bad HI stat, but well... miracles do happen |

The race unfortunately needs a re-run.
Unfortunately the race was not classified as cobbled classic as some of you have noticed already, hence PCM screwed it up by giving sprinters the leadership instead.
As the Ronde is supposed to be a cobbled classic, the cobblers also should be each team`s leaders.
I know some of you might not agree with it or in especially those, that might have done extraordinary well in the first edition probably. Sorry for all those, that might do worse in the next edition. |

Good, it's the best and fair decision to re-run the race.

While you could argue that the top 5 reflected a normal cobbled classic, it's surely the right decision. Just looking at a rider like Senechal måkes that obvious.
A pity for me though! Would be very surprised if my riders can repeat their performance Good spot from knockout, and thanks for the quick decision. Top 10, Matteo!
