So i have seen the first stage of Vuelta yesterday...Valverde going for top5 again after 3rd at Giro and 6th at the Tour...hmm, seems legit. Froome roboting his way back thanks to wattmeter, one of the best comebacks in the stage i have ever seen in 20+ years watching cycling.

Uhmmm, okay, i guess i wont watch another stage.

I hear you Pfft

Also I don't get why people love Valverde so much. Well maybe I can understand it. But if he's doing this, I have a very hard time believing what I'm seeing. Especially given his past and - you know... This is cycling. Anyone performing well is a suspect, but this is just over the top. Grin

You are right, what Valverde is doing shouldn't be able to be done and he is probably the most ridiculous of them all looking at it from the outside. But do you think he is worse than the others?

In my case, I was a fan right from the get go, Illes Balears days (well, I wasn't watching in his charming Kelme days). So that obviously sticks, but I think may people admire the old school racing he is bringing to the table, riding the whole year which stands in sharp contrast to how it was done by Armstrong/Ullrich, but also a rider I very much admire in Nibali recently.

And its also fair to say he has a relative big group of haters, probably most of all excluding Froome.

Just the consistency, I mean, he is doing things that only he can do it. And that is valverde. Meanwhile froome, he is doing things that only he can do, and picking races. Meanwhile guys like Gilbert, Kwiatkowski are open to surprises and flopping.(gilbert cause me to buy pcm for someone cuz he win the championnst du belgique in an unpronouncable village.) These rider charactheristics make people like them and nothing is really wrong with that.

Balaverde is really making a case for himself as the best rider of his generation.

King of La Flèche Wallonne and a sea of second rankings, but he wins not enough compared to Cancellara, Boonen, Cavendish og Contador.
Froome and Sagan is the new generation.

Well yes, until proven otherwise.

It's a sad state of affairs if riders are considered guilty without ever having failed any test, simply because they succeed. Obviously that's a result of cycling's dirty past.

Any rider should be considered clean until proven otherwise. I mean Sagan dominates races just as much as Froome, possibly more so seeing as Froome only really dominates the Tour, and yet no one accuses him of doping.

I cannot believe you just mentioned Cavendish in the same breath as Boonen, Cancellara, Contador and Valverde. ¨

The man has won, +30 stages in TDF, Milan-San Remo, World Championships, The Points Jersey in all three GTs.

Has deleted Valverde from quote, as he loses too many to stand with the others:
Loser GTs
Loser World Championships
Loser olympic games
Loser almost all classics

Froome is obviously doped, as is Valverde, as is Contador, as is Quintana. Just because Contador and Valverde have been unlucky and been busted doesn't mean Froome is morally superior or whatever.

Spilak23
Testing positive/getting caught/getting banned (Valverde never tested positive) is the result of a witchhunt. Not the result of a fair testing proces.

Or mistake by rider/doctor with the planning like Contador, S Yates or Paolini.

Mate, it was said like zillion times, but once again... (takes a deep breath).

Froome was a laughing stock for many years, barely able to finish major races and bam, suddenly begun turning into monster during 2011-2012 timespan.

Sagan dominated many races on different kind of bikes (MTB,cross, road) since childhood and impresses right after turning pro, continuing his development.

Anybody sane can spot the difference...but does it mean Sagan is 100% clean and Froome is 100% dirty? Nope, but you can hardly be surprised when these two are viewed with different optics. Wink
I'll be back
