Is there any chance someone can send me the current ICL Archive in .ods format? I can't open the .xlsx file and I'd like to be able to look at past results while I do my race selections if that's possible.
Having said that, race planning is actually pretty easy in WT with only 40 spare race days to use.

I guess I found a mistake in the race selection file: The Luxembourg GP is marked as U-23 race and not as the CT..1 race which it is,

I really dislike the proposed World-Cup format - putting CT.1 races in it means that we´ll stack them up with WT teams like this. Like this f.e Roma Maxima will have like 15 WT teams appearing being a CT.1 race, same for Richmond - and both are most likely not even won by their classified "World-Cup Terrains" with Clasica T-A very doubtful.
In no way the World Cup should give ranking points! This changes the points system too much after the teams are already clear. Prestige hunting must be enough.
Being a goal though is an interesting option, that´s a great idea.
The influence on next years budget is acceptable, though I´d have gone far harder for a puncheur in the transfer period if I knew that.
For example TT can´t be worth the same as Hills World Cup in their effects. And where is the climbers World Cup?
Spoiler I´m sorry if I missed a discussion here about these points, had a very busy week...

I dont think World Cup has any actual pointa to be gained? I am not for that either because it would reward already succesful teams for being succesful. World Cup as a focus competiion is nice tho

This! People already complained about WT leaders in CT races last seasond and the world cup might push more way more leaders to CT races !

Personally I find the prospect of an alternative ranking for non stage racers (Classics specialists) really interesting.
I also think people are confusing ICL with the ManGame. C1 races are not for weaker riders from what I can see they just have alternative amounts of WT teams. In some way having some races in the World cup and some out surely implies some races having less WT leaders in. At least this makes it more obvious where the WT riders can be.

Maybe a smaller version.would have been good, to see how it works out and expand from there. I see lil conflict of interest when it comes to CT races tho. C2 is the all conti side of things, C1 is for all.
World Tour is really big by now.. makes it difficult for one trick teams such as mine

Will we get the updated DB before race selection or afterwards?

@Luxemburger: Well spotted. I have now updated all Selection files if this changes your selection, you are allowed to send a new one in.
!!!: The mistake in the file had a lot of influence on the selections so far, please check again and decide if you want to ride GP Luxembourg as CT.1 and World Cup race. Most U23 teams have now selected the race, I'll auto undo that selection. Please PM me with a replacement or if you want to keep the race on the calendar for your dev team.
@Shonak: The updated db will be uploaded before selections end.
On the world cup: I think it gives CT teams better chances to know where WT riders will be. It was never a problem to have WT leaders at some CT.1 races. Of course the World Cup will have no influence on the main rankings.

It works OK for me. I've got four web pages open and can still copy the column into a PM. Have you tried copying the column into Notepad first? If all else fails, you can post the list of races you want to enter and I'll copy it into a PM for you.
PS: Bikex, when is this task due? Still hoping for the archive file but I can probably finish without it if you need this done quickly.

@jserna: If you can't get it to work you can upload the file and send me the link
@OZrocker: Sorry I don't have Open Office. The current Archive File is anyways very slow. Soon I'll have finished a new version which will run much smoother, but it won't be done before selections finish. Maybe not even for race planning.
Deadline: Friday for now |

Sorry I have been quiet after my R1 bids. I presumed that I was unable to take part in research etc with no remaining budget. I will have the planner sorted out tonight.
I like the idea of the World Cup, but agree with the possibility of big WT names appearing at the C1 races and it ending up being the successful WT teams just being more successful against weaker opposition. As a concept, it is a great idea though

Here is the updated DB: https://www.mediafire.com/download/b57...17-DB.xlsx
Some fitness trainers may still be added, but the stats are definitely final.
I have renamed Team W - Junior into Carlsberg - Danske Bank as I thenk can just use the jersey I made. The team will disband at the end of the season. |

I thought about making the option to replace one focus race with a rankings focus/goal. This can be any ranking, not only World Cup. Is that a good idea or is it preferred to keep the current system with only focus races but the scored points also playing a role for the calculated budget of next season?
Not sure if i understand you correctly. Would that mean that the ranking position would not count to next season budget anymore if a team decides to not chose it as a focus race/goal? Then I'm against this idea!
Or do you want to give teams the opportunity to replace one goal for a bigger ranking impact on next season's budget? In that case, this could be very interesting imo.
(Sorry, missed that post until now)
