And everyone is surprised by this one because??? He's the poster boy for rapha, he's been a stagiere there last year and has been in the GB team since U15 out of everyone in my age group he was the one guaranteed to go to Sky all things going well.
Is it the right decision, no I doubt it it's only really worked for Rowe at the moment but Cannondale have had a terrible record for developing talents recently and Orica don't need another Stage Racer and Dimension Data probably wouldn't be interested with him not being African so it was the only option as I doubt very much he would go to a non British speaking team |

Ask yourselves - which rider not named Chris Froome has made a breakthough while being Sky rider? It's tough one since almost everyone who has steped up in the Sky machine in some cases have performed even worse than before joining. Look at König - he finished in Top 10 of TdF 2014 with PCT, but after that he wasn't the same.

Do I need to be surprised by something to be allowed to be disappointed?

Thomas, Kennaugh, Kyrienka, Stannard, Poels, Swift, Moscon...all at least stayed at their level or had a breakthrough
König finished 6th at Giro as secondary leader during first year at SKY, helped Froome to win Tour same year and 2016 season is almost whole hindered by long-term injury, he is slowly building form up to Vuelta, so lets see what he can do. But you cant juddge him to be terrible, he was pretty much same rider, just with different role and now had an injury. (that does not mean i like him at SKY).

Tao Hart at SKY may reduce chances of VDP signing for them too? *fingers crossed*

You could argue that Wiggins broke through in 2009 on Garmin though with the TDF poduim/fourth place and not on Sky.

I wonder what mr. etixx himself Paul thinks of this stupid move by team. Still don't get why Lefevere is so fucking stubborn and doesn't sign any aditional climbers but just overcrowds team with cobblers and punchers. Just fucking look at that ardennes squad: Martin, Jalla, Phil, Brambilla, Vakoc, Devenyns, Jungels, etc.
I like Phil and I will look forward seeing him in the etixx colors, but this move is just plain stupid. I mean, it could all end up like their cobble campaign does almost every year. Too many good riders at etixx leads to nobody helping etixx. They should sign some more climbers, indeed. They have a world class cobble squad, a world class sprinter duo in Kittel and Gaviria, an Ardennes-Army and....Jungels(!) for the GC? He can get Top10s, maybe even a Top5, if everything goes well for him, but they should've signed Nibali or some other climber. With Brambilla and Jungels, they would even have a support for him.
You are Ettix fan and still does not find out that Lefevre is not after GT's? What he will do with climbers?
Spring is Quickstep season..mostly always have..always will. I still don't understanding why the man need 9 go-leaders for every spring classics.
Tour is for stage wins..boomer that Kittel had bad year. |

Indeed cycling is usually more then TdF final standings.
Like Landa 2016 season..thankfully he is smart enough to not start Vuelta also..that have spoiled he's 2017 season also.
Sky have made mostly riders fly..I have to admit they have been good with scouting.
Kennaugh, Stannard, Henao, Swift..all great. Even Rogers finds a wings again at Sky and Uran
Poels (he revealed he's climbing abilities early at Vaconsoleil) |

It's amazingly funny watching people crack it when a rider signs for Sky, how is Sky more dislikable than the new Bahrain torture team? Etixx, Astana, Tinkoff, BMC, Katusha, Movistar and so on. All have a dirty history and shown a disrespect to cycling by happily accepting doping. I am not defending Sky here but find it amusing that some seem happy to accept some teams with a disgusting past yet get all in a tizz about Sky.

The difference, as stated many times, is that Sky's dominance and style of racing already make major races dull and monotonous. I don't particularly like any other the other teams you listed and in fact dislike some greatly. But the main difference is that unlike other shady teams, Sky can ruin the very dynamic of a cycling race.

I know but apparently there are rumours and I am sure Sky has the money to buy him out.

He should ride the cross for few more years and then do a Å tybar, at least i hope he will do it, because dominance of Van Aert would not be funny.
