PCM.daily Projects CT Stat Discussion

fair enough, adjusted the stats of de la Parte

For looking at the DB I give you a small hint: re-read the bottom of the first post Wink

Croatia14 I think I finally can answer your question about Rafael Reis performance in Volta ao Algarve. It was the first race of the season for him and his team W52-FC Porto-Porto Canal and they did the time trial on a normal bike, instead of a TT one(I don't know why the decision).

thank you for your research, that explains a lot Smile

Croatia14 when you say that the DB document in the first post has the most updated stats, can you tell me, what really does that mean? When it has been the last time uploaded? Because if I want to suggest an upgrade or a downgrade on a rider, I would look at th DB to see if you aldredy done that, so that I don't suggest you to do, what you aldredy done. Example Ciolek and Bialoblocki(who really had a great season last year) are having a bad season for what they done in the past. I would suggest to downgrade a bit their stats, but maybe you aldredy done that. I don't know if you understand what am i saying.
Appart from that:
-Agust Jansen-he is having nice results, and today done 7th place on the last stage of the Artic Race of Norway . I think he is showing he is fairly good sprinter, who can do well in the hills, but his stats like Sprint and Accelaration are low in game. I think he deserves around 72/73 in that stats, and better flat and backups stats. I would also suggest a little bost to Kristoffer Halvorsen.
I also have some other questions, even thought I don't know if it is the right thread to do it:
-Would there be created others continental teams?
-Do you if there wouldn't be a Drapac Pro Continental or Continental team, or the team will end eith the fusion with Cannondale?
-Would be erased from the game the retired riders(who aldredy didn't ride this season) like Vitor Gamito, Hélder Oliveira, Vergílio Santos, Célio Sousa, and other non portuguese riders like Vladimir Gusev, and others, including some young riders that changed from cycling to another job? I've noticed some of them, and if you want I can help with that.
-Maybe this is off-topic but wouldn't be a good idead retiring the riderswho have been suspended fordoping or using drugs for some years of the DB, like Giampaolo Caruso, Luca Paolini. Mattia Gavazzi, David Appolonnio, etc....?Because it feels unrealistic seeing banned riders getting contracts with very good teams at the change of year in Carrer mode.

That is exactly the document the db team stat makers use to update stats, so it could very well have been last updated 5 seconds ago Wink

Not sure what Adrien Costa's stats are currently, but I think he showed he should have at least 72 mountain. With his potential and his age I'm not sure anything more would be fathomable in the games, but anything less would just be unrealistic.

Thanks for the reply, but what I really wanted to know, is if the changes I suggested, that you agree, are aldredy implemented in the documented. Because it helps a lot if I knew that some rider has a determined stat, to measure the value of that sta of others riders as a comparison, in order to get more precise, as I have more suggestion in my mind of riders of portuguese team.
But if still aren't implemented, I understand that. But in that way may be better to post tendencies than precise stats, to be easier for you.
PS: Sorry for the off-topic, but anyone here know if it may be possible to W52-FC Porto-Porto Canal to go to Pro Continental division? Nuno Ribeiro, the sport director of the team, talked about thst possibilitie, but here we don't know much more.

matt17br
I'm pretty sure croatia and kodman have already implemented them, yes Wink

About W52 I saw that news popping up too, but I don't see it happening next year, it's clever for Ribeiro to look for new sponsors publically saying he has plans to go PCT, and a Volta was a huge boost for his quest to find new sponsors.

I took a look at the document and I see that stats unchanged. Just wanted to knowWink

I don't see the need for find new sponsors, I mean main sponsors, because the team is part of FC Porto since the start the of this season, and the Club may increase the cycling budget. Also they signed last year a 5 years connection.
Nuno Ribeiro talked about taking a new step at the end of the season. so it may be possible. As the team has more than qualitie to climb to that division, and I don't feel money would be the problem.

@Jpgm97
Yeah, they've been updated, no worries there Smile
What seems odd is that I went through the link in the first post and the changes we've made didn't show up which was weird. I even went through my bookmarked link just in case we've screwed up on our end and everything is normal, I guess the link in the first post doesn't update stats for some odd reason. Sorry about the confusion.

Thanks for reporting this, a new link has been updated in the first post: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...7I/pubhtml

This should get constantly updated at intervals of 5 minutes.

Thanks. Sorry if I bothered. After taking a quick look at the document, if find some stats, that in my opinion doesn't reflect the reality, but they are very close to it.
Even thought you looked at my suggestions and made your decisions, I would like to just add some points and some corrections to what I suggested to the discussion, that you may probably disagree, but I think they have their importance.
-Jóni Brandão-He isn't better in the moutains than Gustavo Veloso. Maybe we can put then on the same level. So I think that's better if they both were 72(I think this suit them better) or both 71. About Jóni stats I also don't agree with his sprint being 67, as he don't seen able to sprint like he did in the past, so I would lower to 66 and also flat to 67. Also why is his resistance so low after what he did in the Torre stage when he is an lone breakway for ta big part of stage? Also he may not be a good TT, even thought he is improving, but I think that his resistance his key to the results he does on stages like tat.
-Gustavo Veloso-Why did he had a recovery stat downgrade to 69? I mean 70 seens right for him. He didn't have a bad day in the Volta, won 3 stages(could have won 4 if didn't punctured in the prologue). Also as Rafael Reis has 72 on Prologue and 71 in TT, Gustavo Veloso should have 72 on TT(as he won the last 3 TT of the Volta, and has been showing for some time that he is a good a TT. Example in 2009 he did 4th of the TT of the Vuelta). The rest seens right for him, even thought i would give only 1 more point in accelaration, for his abilitie to attack fast near to end, like Joaquím Rodríguez, even thought he is much more tall and has more weight.
-Also I think Rui Vinhas and Daniel Silva could have 70 moutains, but I can understand your decision. On Vinhas I think his barouder should be around 70, not only because of his breakway that gave him the win on the Volta a Portugal, but certainly it's a good reason for it, If wasn't that he won't won the Volta.
-António Carvalho-In my opinion, and many more here in Portugal he is the third best climber here, considering Veloso and Jóni the only ones better than him. If you keep Veloso at 71 mountains, I would give him 70(if Veloso had 72, I would give him 71). If we was the leader he could fight for Volta a Portugal, and even win it, even thought he would have to improve a bit more his TT. This year he worked a lot for his leaders Veloso and Vinhas, so he couldn't a very good place on the GC. But last year Volta he did very good performance, even thought he still had to work to Veloso and Delio, but Hélder Olivera, Vinhas and Alarcón were the main helpers. He has show that deserves similar backups to Jóni, only a slighty lower. Also his hills should be 69. Also he has a 5 year contract, which isn't normal in cycling, which he signed last year, rejecting Pro-Continental offers, not only for his love for FC Porto, but also because the team believe in his value and his potential.
-Alejandro Marque- He isn't no more the Marque who could fight for the GC,as he seens to have reached the peak of decline. I would suggest to lower 1 point on most of the stats(except barouder, as he attacked many times to try to improve his GC). He did 14th on the Volta not because he had to help Amaro Antunes, but because he can't keep with best riders on the hard parts.
-Ricardo Mestre moutains stat is low. 67 would fit him better, as he worked a lot for the team in the climbs and still did a decent place on the GC.
-José Gonçalves-I don't think he deserves any stats reduction based on the Volta he had. He wasn't on the Volta to fight for the GC, but for preparing the Vuelta. winning sprint stages, and also work for Ricardo Vilela.
-García de Mateos-Why don't has he 67 mountains or something like that after his surprising good performance at the Volta? He did 8th on Volta and probably would do 6th if weren't the mechanical problems on the TT. He couldn't do that with 62 moutain certanly. I understand that it is the first time he performs like that, but he aldredy wasn't a pure sprinter. He could(and still can, as he did good results on the sprint stages, and won one) sprint very well here, but if the ending it's a bit hilly, he has more chances to win, so maybe he is more a puncher. But Volta a Portugal it's real hard, even thought were only two hard mountain stages, the sprint stages have hard climbs some km before finish, that even good climbers lose contact, and sprinters can hold on without problems. Di Mateos was always on the main group on the Volta, didn't show any signal of weakness in any day, so I would also suggest to improve is endurance and resistance by one point at least and recovery to 67.
-Rinaldo Nocentini-I think that after his very bad performance, having 69 mountains in the DB, like Daniel Silva who did third, is high, considering he struggled a lot in the mountain stages. I would lower it to 67/68. Also I would lower his barouder stat to 72(as he only attacked once, and was caught quickly). Then I would lower his hills to 71, and lower all his backups(including recovery) by two points, as each day he struggled even more. Thought I think his sprint is too low and I would give 67, as he did very decent sprints and even did a second place in a sprint stage.
-Amaro Antunes-I think his stats on the DB are more based on this year Volta ao Algarve, because he still didn't show much, for the potential I think he has. OK, he did 6th in the Volta a Portugal this year. But that's his best result. He will do 26 in November, so he is still young, and as LA Antarte will end, I am pretty sure we will find a good team. But for now I would reduce his mountains by one point and hills too, to match his performances.
But the rest seens fine for me. I hope you can keep out the good work. And I will try to help when I can. I would not keep suggesting regularly, unless you need help in any race or have any questions, as the Portuguese calendar is almost over. Today Juan Ignacio Pérez from W52-FC Porto-Porto Canal won the Portuguese Cup, that is a stage race, but each stage is an one day race, as they may be in different months. But each stage the riders get points, and the one with most points wins. This year it started in May and ended today.
Also do someone know this young rider https://www.procyc...d=196333(I put the link the wrong way, sorry, but now is correct) ? There isn't many information about him, but I have seen him winning the Volta a Portugal for Youth Riders, which has 3 stages, that he won them all by attacking and arriving alone. He seens a very promising rider.

I decided to take a more detailed look at the DB at this moment, and most of the stats I agree. I think you are doing a great work.
But still, I would want some give more stats suggestions.
But before I don't know why the link from PCS doesn't work, but the rider I talked about is João Almeida.
Now:
-I know i am been insisting in this point but some Nocentini stat are still hight compared to our best riders. For his performance over the year i would give this stats(they are in the order of the DB document): 68/69/70/60/68/69/66/71/69/69/69/70,73.
-I think Daniel Silva at this moment is the best rider of Radio Popular Boavista, after many years of leadership of Rui Sousa. But in the DB, he isn't still, but if his moutains were increased to 70 I think it would solve it.
-63 mountains it's still low for Di Mateos, but I have think better, and maybe a 65 would suit him best. And if he keeps his performance there I think he needs a bigger bost.
-Raul Alarcón I think he deserves at least 65 or more resistance. An example of that is the second place in the long TT in the Volta.
-João Benta moutains are too hight, 69 would fit him best, as better riders than him have lower stats and also as the leader of Louletano in the Volta he couldn't do better result than his team mate Di Mateos, who is considered a sprinter.
-As for Alejandro Marque, i looked at his best results in the Volta a Portugal, and without the 2013 and 2015 season, his result this year is near what he has done in the past. I mean he wasn't properly in the top of the best climbers here, even thought in that 2 years he had good performances in the mountains. Example in 2013 he was 4th in the GC before the long TT, with Rui Sousa in the Yellow Jersey, in which he won, with Gustavo Veloso(that was his team mate at that year) doing second in the stage and at GC, with only a difference of 4 seconds in the GC. After that performance he signed for Movistar, but he never was part of the team, because he had a clause that if were found he had positive doping controls he would be fired, what in fact hapenned and it was retired the Volta win. Even thought later it was discovered that there was no issue relative to doping, and he had a clean win in the Volta. So he had a year without competing. I think that may have affected him. He came back last year, and looked different. He was slimmer than the years before, so he could perform better in the moutains. But that made him lost power to do good TTs and to sprint well. And this year he had a bad performance, even in the moutains. At this moment of his career I would suggest this stats: 68/69/66/60/68/68/67/67/67 66/68/68/74.
-Improving Bruno Silva mountains to 65 as he is very important helper for Amaro Antunes and Marque in the climbs, and last year won the climber's jersey.
-About Jóni Brandão, I think his resistance is low, for the best portuguese rider in our teams. What about 67/68? I may be wrong, but I think resistance is very important for a GC rider.

Michal Schlegel (Klein Constantia could use a MO boost seeing his performance in Avenir. He's currently on 64, I'd estimate 66-67 would suit him.
Twan van den Brand (Jo Piels) could use a COB boost for his 2nd place in the Slag om Norg. Might have been a one-off, but a small upgrade could be in place. Same goes for Peter Schulting (Parkhotel Valkenburg)
Harttijs de Vries could use a small HI boost. He got some good results in the hilly races of the Topcompetitie (a series of one day races in the Netherlands, winner gets offered a contract at Roompot). I think 65HI could work well. He's got some more good results in the Topcompetitie as well, including a victory in the Omloop van Alkmaar (from a break, beating Mol), so maybe a general boost could do as well.
(https://www.topcompetitie.nu/ for more on the Topcompetitie, could work as a good reference for Dutch CT team stats, maybe for adding some FAs as well)

Croatia14 is there any way I can transfrer the most updated stats to a cdb, without doing the changes one by one in the editor, so I could have a better view on it?
And another question. Have you aldredy done that changes you said you would do today? If not, there is no problem, as I understand that you have many others things to do.

Thanks, but how do I transfrer the sheet that is in the first post, which is the most updated, isn't it? Because the one I transfered has different stats from that.
Maybe I did something wrong.

No clue why, if you can't download it correctly try to copy the stats from the browser.

Is it the place to talk about PCT stats, if yes, I want a stat revolution for Adam Phelan from Drapac. He isn't a TTer anymore more like hilly sprinter. A hill and sprint stat of 70-69, while his tt for 67 and prl for 68. It is a guy who i scout him alot, well..Grin
