Surprising move by Lobato. I like his aim for a new chance, but don´t know if LottoNL is the right place for that with their quantity of (hilly-) sprinters. In my eyes he can still be a Top 8 sprinter (didn´t he also have one really good tour with 3rd at Champs Elysee when Quintana wasn´t team leader?). Still has the potential to improve his results a lot with the right team & focus I guess. And to all the fanboys: I think that he´ll be the fastest man at Lotto-NL next year.

He only rode Tour when we was in Euskaltel, in 2013. He finished 5th in a stage won by Greipel, in Montpellier. That's his best result in a Tour's stage. In Giro, he was 2nd after Ulissi in 7th stage last year

I take everything back...for some reason I mixed up JJ Rojas' Tour 2011 with Lobato and put Navardauskas' performance on the Champs Elysee 2014 on top...wtf was my mind thinking? Grin

Guarnieri to FDJ, decent enough for Demare. Also Ludvigsson and Molard.

Well so long Ryder, at least you had a grand tour under your belt. I sense that he's still going to be active in road cycling. Management I guess?

Riders with his past shouldn't be allowed to be involved with the management of cycling teams, I wish the UCI would grow a backbone and start implementing rules like that.

That's some sort of FIFA transfer. Has Italian even ever ridden for FDJ before?

Surprising deal actually, I thought Carthy would sign with a quality team. Maybe good guy Vaughters tries to save the world from another british Tour de France winner? But Hugh has so much potential, I think even Vaughters will have a hard time ruining him. Pfft

Mohoric also probably had more potential than Carthy really, but going from Cannondale to Lampre just seems to have ruined him. Not to talk about Moser Sad

What about the other Lampre riders - now that the team is no more WT, will be they free to look for other teams? I think in this case Rui Costa will most likely return to Movistar and reunite with his buddy Oliveira.

Wouldn`t be surprised if many of them join the new Bahrain team, staying with Merida.

To be fair most of the Italians in Lampre were linked to be running buddies of Nibbles in the Italian based but Bahraini subsidised team. Meintjes was also linked, but I think he's still under contract with Lampre and Bahrain Merida will have to buy him out of it. Should Lampre become PCT (which is now 95% likely) then IMO they will rely more on homegrown talent and will free most of their international riders. Kinda like what most of the Italian PCT (or almost any PCT team for that matter) do anyway. Unless you're targeting WT license for the following season.

And Bahrain is poaching from Lampre - first their license and now their riders. See a pattern there?

Yes especially the Africans who are only there because of Copeland and the Asians who are only there because of Merida.

Mohoric was pretty good in the Giro for Lampre so I don't get why you would say that moving from Cannondale to Lampre ruined him, if anything he improved since the move.

mohoric is 21
moser was bad at the italian cannondale already he improved with the american cannondale

i dont see a pattern

No no that was some bad wording from my side Pfft

I meant that Lampre, even if in a lesser extent than Cannondale, doesn't exactly seem to be among the best when it comes to talent development, might be wrong though. Therefore moving from Cannondale to Lampre is like getting from fire to a frying pan for him, sad to see him in this situations.
