Really a meh route, sucks that they have found that Murrito near the end which makes the racing at Jaizkabel and Arkale bad since everyone waits for the last one |

Yeah, both San Sebastian and Amstel has somewhat ruined their races by changing the routes |

Kind of a crap race. Valverde throws yet another race by letting Gallopin pull and not coming through so they can't catch Miollema when it had been down to like 4 seconds. Who knows why. Purito tried but just didn't have it.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Regardless, Mollema was the strongest anyway. Would have just been crap if Valverde won this if the chasers worked together. |

I don't really think you have any clue to what makes a good race
ruben: How was the stronger than the rest? He just grabbed an opportunity and Valverde and Purito fucked it up as usual, its nothing new. |

Maybe, but we had some good ideas in the Daily Skype Chat. Like less hills, more water crossings (like San Luis), more railroads, or even riding on them or recreating the Descente Pavé which is a stage somewhere in the download section. All would make good races.

Mollema closed the gap to Rodriguez, not Valverde. Mollema attacked right after the top where the rest couldn't. So yeah, the strongest won. How you can ignore that is beyond me. You must really hate Mollema a lot |

Yeap, surprisingly gotta agree with Ruben here. Mollema definitely was the strongest, and was actually kinda blocked at the top of the last mountain, so probably the gap could have been even bigger. |

Nice to see Mollema getting a rare, big win after the disappointment of the Tour. Doing it over the crest and on the downhill seems rather poectic too. |

He didn't throw this race.
He couldn't outsprint Gallopin to the line, he certainly wouldn't outsprint him if he had worked more.
The situation was perfect for Mollema. Gallopin was kinda boxed and couldn't react immediately. Since he got an advantage, the chase couldn't work, because Purito was cooked and I think Valverde felt he wouldn't outsprint Gallopin so he tried force him to work, which had very little chance to succeed.
Good to see Slagter finally showing something decent this season. |
