Tour of Denmark kicked off today with a classic long and flat stage. The last hour was raced with a split peloton, from which Bennati and Würtz attacked from with 10 kilometers to go.
Bennati went on to destroy Würtz in the sprint, but Würtz is a strong TT'er and the time advantage of around 15 seconds could mean he wins the overall race.

Today ended with an uphill sprint, where Hofland opened after a nearly perfect leadout, only to have Magnus Cort reel in 10-15 meters on Hofland and Bennati and win.

MONSTER sprint by Cort. No wonder Orica believes more in him for the Vuelta than Ewan (Mezgec?), has the potential to be one of the best hilly sprinters. |

Funniest thing I have seen in a while at Volta - a breakaway rider thought he had won but then is told one more lap required!

Hardly super impressive what he has done so far in this field. It really lacks quality. He got the perfect leadout from Hofland yesterday, but couldn't finish. Was sure he would.
The Vejle-stage today is gonna be interesting as always. Hoping for Cort again! |

Just a question : What is Team Postnord Danmark, seems it is a team with a mix of riders from other team's ?
Is it a team construction just for this race - or ?
NEVER MIND - JUST FOUND OUT - THE NATIONAL TEAM.

Read an interesting interview with Florian Nowak lately. He told that the helping cars drive in a such dangerous way that his team thinks of disbanding the Volta ao Portugal if they don´t change this stuff around.

The hills loves a Magnus and dislikes a Mads.

A win for experience today in Portugal in a reduced bunch, uphill sprint. Sprint was launched very early but Gavazzi came waltzing through at the end to overtake all those fading before him and comfortably take the win. His first since 2012 apparently.

Here's a 12 minute highlights package which I'm not sure you can watch. The finish begins at around 9:40.
