When it hits you that Tyler Farrar doesn't have a home for next season...
In all seriousness I hope he leaves Dimension Data and goes to a PCT team with less sprinters. He showed at times in 2014 that he still does have a kick and could be good for cobbles/sprinters type classics if he wasn't stuck at a team with EBH (who does exactly that but better).
He could be road captain and get chances on a PCT team. Right now he's doing grunt work on the front of the peloton and because of that I don't think he'll get resigned - it's not like he does that kind of relaying any better than cheaper no names. And I mean at this point he isn't getting leadership in really small races.
I know that's just me fanboying but I can't help it. I just can't get over that he's gone from having 83 sprint in PCM 11 to being 4th leadout man in shit small races.

Maybe it's time for him to go home and race for one of the American PCT/Conti teams, seems its about the level he's at these days and he might actually bag a win or 2

please not...Pantano can be (in my eyes) a great leader for smaller WT teams - there are very little riders who have the same climbing and sprinting level Pantano has - for me he would be a perfect fit for a team like FDJ (I know he won´t go there) and could be the man for races like Clasica San Sebastian or Volta a Catalunya...Bora (without Sagan only) would be also great...

He would get plenty of opportunities at Trek to do what you are suggesting, all depends on who they bring in with Contador but the Trek roster isn't very deep so I can see Pantano having plenty of chances to ride for himself.

are you sure? they have Mollema and Contador +X for races where it goes uphill, I´d think he´ll have to work most of the time for these guys...

Contador, Mollema and Hesjedal all have the ability to lead GTs but none of them target a race like San Sebastien and I think that's what he was referring to.

It wouldn't be certain that he'd be in the Tour squad as a Dom for Contador but would it be that bad if he was? Pantano looks to be nothing more than a stage hunter in GT's and if was working for Contador then I think he would still get chances to head out stage hunting on a day like yesterday. If he follows Mollema to one of the other GT's then I think the same applies

I disagree that Hesjedal has the quality for that...he has what it takes for races like San Sebastian but sadly nothing more, despite being an enjoyable rider...
and Mollema f.e. loves to ride these 1-day races (and does good there too), just look at his last couple of seasons

Well I mean he was top 5 in the Giro just last year even after losing time in the first weeks. Besides he's the kind of guy that recovers very well if he makes it through the first couple of weeks, which makes him better in a GT than a 1 week stage race or classic.
Sure he hasn't done anything this year after abandoning the Giro but he's probably doing Vuelta.

Looking at it now, Hesjedal doesn't even have a contract with Trek for next season so this could all be null.

Let's be honest, UHC are basically a 3rd division team with a higher budget. They rarely race in Europe.

Hesjedal was ok last year. This year he has been disaster. I was hoping that he will be fine at giro. He is great for any GT when he is in great shape.
Nothing this year..ever more nothing sadly next year. I have seen how great riders just keep fading. |

As to this rumour, I read an article just before and he's being linked to both Trek and OBE lso ets wait and see what happens. OBE would look like a good fit just as much as Trek would be
