Nope when he ditched it he left it resting against a moto that then just continued on and left the bike on the side of the road, so guess someone in the crowd took it from that moment

In the midst of all this, Sagan calmly goes about his business on the podium

Well it looks like the judges have no idea what to do and will be making a decision later on today, so no yellow jersey presentation

But then the thievery wasn't the reason why Froome continued walking, right? |

I am 100% sure they won't punish Froomy for running and stuff, that would not be ok under the circumstances, and they know that.
It's is more likely they will compensate him and give him yellow.

What stuns me the most is how many indicated tries to eliminate Froome or fine him for this. Panic surely set in during a chaotic moment.
The hate for this bloke must be really hot.
What has he done ? Beside being the best rider for the moment.

That bike is worth a fortune. What did he expect!
After the strategic nature break, this was karma, wasn't it? Bad luck to Porte in particular and Mollema. The latter might have got the yellow otherwise with Froome's incident!

No, that happend later. He ditched bike and run straight after so bike was there when he was running... |

Not at all, he ran with it then stopped, ditched it and kept running

Saying it got nicked is a good reason/excuse - no-one will be able to prove or disprove it categoricaly and the whole run thing and technical infringement therein can be glossed over.
TdF jury's love a bit of gloss. |

Is there an exception to the rules so Froome does not get a DSQ for taking a part of the course without his bike? Or is there a general exception that the organisation can always change UCI rules?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I don't like or dislike Froome, but you simply can't just run off without the bike, it doesn't matter what happened or if he was panicked. If he hadn't done that then I'm all for his time being neutralized, you can't complete the course if you haven't done it with your bike

As per most UCI rules, they are vaguely written so I'd expect them to find a loophole so he won't get penalized

They gave Yates 7 seconds Friday without any base in the rules. No one even complained. They can do whatever they want..

I'd agree with you if we didn't have footage of him dumping his bike against a moto and taking off on foot

So tell me something, if anybody remembers, it was either in the Beijing Olympics or Athens, a Brazilian, if I remember correctly, was leading the marathon by a huge margin. Then a fan pushed him down, he lost his rhythm and eventually finished 4th. No sympathy was given to that runner. How is this any different? Why does Froome deserve any sympathy specifically?
