Early break with Sagan and Cav was brought back by Lotto and Etixx. New break formed with ao NIbali, GVA, Cummings, Cancellara, Navarro, and many others. Couple groups rode away form that bigger group and now Cummings is 20 secs ahead of a group with Nibali and GVA.

1st break got chased down for 50km at start because it had Cav and Sagan in it. Then a 22 man break happened with GVA Nibali Tony Martin Cancellara Cummings. Now it split into little groups |

early couple kms of Aspin are false flat so that should suit Cummings better. Now they're hitting the harder slopes

Don't know if it's really worth it for GVA, but unexpected turn of events, but surely if the GC favorites attacks, they might be able to make it less worth.
Also Cummings is a very likeable rider, so hope he can hold off on the last 5 km's of the climb.

Nibali and Navarro were the worst of all possible top 10 contenders Wednesday so the first I think.

A combination of both. Cummings and Impey can both be really decent climbers when they want to, and Navarro and Nibali has looked like crap so far.
