MY PICK

The Jalaphilippe! He is more Jalabert than Laurent Jalabert himself and will show it right here with his explosiveness!

Interesting stage, reminds me a bit of Huy last year.

I think it will prove be more of a GC-stage than some might expect. Valverde to win.

On last kilometres should be a nice race. My pick, Valv or Jalaphilippe. But wouldn't be surprised if some outsider will win it.

Kirchen_75
Also there might be some echelons as the road right from the start goes along the coast line

deek12345
GVA or alaphillipe

Luxemburger
I doubt that an outsider will win this, the chance for a yellow jersey wiz the stage win is just too high.

20 kmh crosswinds forecasted for the stage. Wet and cold. Mini Gent-Wevelgem? Grin

That finishing climb is nowhere near as hard as Huy, I see a punchy sprinter or Alaphillippe takes it
Hells 500 Crew and 6 x Everester
Don Rd Launching Place
Melbourne Hill Rd Warrandyte
Colby Drive Belgrave South
William Rd The Patch
David Hill Rd Monbulk
Lakeside Drive Emerald

Guido Mukk
And Froome will go with full gas ..will finish 4-5th. Will turn head, look rivals..and takes few seconds.

Did I say that? Pfft

Lets wait and see.

I'm picking Gallopin to win even though I think Allaphillipe will.

I'd say Mathews as well but not sure if Orica will back him or Gerrans, it's a tough finish to know if I puncheur or punchy sprinter will do better.

Kind of surprised at the relatively weak break, was expecting Voeckler, Chava, Roy type of riders.

Gerrans will help Matthews..... oh, yeah, right Pfft
Why is he even selected? Matthews is much stronger than him at finishes like this now. Their seem to dislike each other much more than Niba/Aru imo.

Last year, in 2 out of the 3 uphill finishes in week 1, outsiders won in Stybar and Vuillermoz. Could very well see something similar happening, maybe Vichot.

Except Nibali and Aru don't actually dislike themselves.

So, a little elaboration would surely be appreciated. I know they dont hate each other or whatever, but the air seems cold between them, very divided at least. Enlighten mee.

I don't understand why people think they dislike themselves in the first place?

Seems very much something the media made up. Nibali and Aru are friends, Aru often has said Nibali is his role model, they don't miss a chance to train together when they can. When Nibali was provoked about the fact he was going to Le Tour when it was Arus main goal, he said he wouldn't be leading by any means and would be helping Aru.

I mean I obviously can't prove anything but that's because there's no evidence Nibali and Aru don't like each other too much.

I think thats the reason, its what you hear and therefore, especially if you are not Italian and don't know anything more, you will assume that. But good to hear. I like both riders and hope Nibali won't turn down the GC and Aru have peaked accordingly, they can be dangerous. Smile

No way Gerrans will help Mathews, but the rest of the Orica riders will still help whoever they think it's more suited too. Pfft Or maybe they'll support Albasini, he could be quite good on this finish, doubt they'll pick him though.

I can kinda understand them selecting Gerrans though, as aside from Cadel he's probably (maybe alongside Porte) the most well known rider in Australia, making him a good publicity point and some of these stages might suit him more than Mathews.

EDIT: And whatever Nibali/Aru do, Rosa will top 5. Cool

Reported that Tony created the crash, wasn't he also the first to fall when he had yellow and was forced to abandon?
