Clearly two best teams of tournament and neither one has advantage over each other. Sad to see that they have to play each other in quarters while shitty team like Portugal has a realistic chance of making finals.

Not a big fan of penalty's myself to decide the outcome of these games.
Came up with a different solution for ties after 90 minutes: So first 30 full minutes normal (like current) extra time but with only 8 players instead of 11 (like in NHL now). 3 have to go off, every coach can freely choose which 3 he takes off. Then if still tied after those 30 minutes next team to score wins. Keeps it a game of footbal instead of penalties which is completely different sport. New ET would also be extremely exciting with less players and more space.

Not 3 off, I've had to play in some 9v9 games due to sending offs, and its absolutely miserable. The winning team would be screwed for their next game. I'd would be up for 10 v 10 for a shorter period than 30 minutes
The last time Germany missed a penalty in the shootout of a major tournament was in 1982!
Before last night, they'd only ever missed 2 out of 28 shootout penalties in major tournaments, ever!
