So i gather that to use a custom db, it needs to be in the steam workshop, is that right?
If so, my question is this: how can you test a db to make sure it works and it's all ok? Is there any other way than uploading it to the workshop?? If not, it's dumb coz the workshop is going to be full of shitty half-done untested dbs... Or can the upload be made "private" so that nobody can download it? |

Yes, making the dl private is the only way, but in reality to create a new database and use it only for yourself you don't really need to put it in the workshop already. You can read more on Cyanide's site, but in short, you need to create a new folder in Mod that has got the same files the Default folder has, and put everything you need in those folders.

Hi,
I made own database, but I can not get her into the game. I see a folder in the data of choice, but the database is still red and data are original. I tried your advice to make new folder but witout success. Even steam way doesn't work.Is there any other way? Last years I never had problem. |

Yeah having the exact same problem, and tried the same things. No luck. I even tried to look on Cyanide's site, but I couldn't find anything about it. |

Thanks a lot, that made it work!
Got another question related to databases - when you get a database from the Steam Workshop, where does it get saved locally? |

I made my own DB but I can't add a race because I don't know how to put stages in it? Does anyone know how to do it? I was using pcm fast editor. |

You again mate, thanks a lot for the help. Listen I didn't explain myself correctly. What I meant is that i didn't know how to construct a race with stages already in game. The tip you gave me is talking about stages you create and how to export them. I give you the picture, I created the race, so far so good even appears in the DB, but without the stages. So here is the plan, 5 days 1 Supervolta 1, 2 Sp 11, 3 Sp 5, 4 Ruta San Luis 6, 5 Sp 9. In Sta Stage I put the names of the stages in Constant, because i didn't see anywhere else to put them, and it was the wrong call. Can you help, again i'm with pcm fast editor.
Another question does pcm daily have a pack just with stages that i can had to the ones in the game and put them has variant?
Once again thanks for the help. |

Yeah I know what you mean. What you need to do is take all those stages (located in cm_stages), rename them all to have the same name (for example t0_fantasytour or whatever, that's what you'll put in the sta_race column requiring it as explained in the guide). So then of course you decide which stage is stage 1, stage 2 etc. renaming the part after the constant t0_fantasytour from the current stage number to the new one, so for example t0_fantasytour_01, and then at the end of that, you put the stages year, which can be any really, can even be a name, just as long as it's the same for all those.
When that is done, you add the new race you've built following the guide above ^
The reason why there are no stages packs yet: https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....st_1184506

Sorry i've been working all day. So let me see if i understand correctly I pick the stages i want copy them to a folder, or whatever, change the name (for example t0_fantasytour), in order to put them back on cm_stages, After renaming the stages i take the steps mentioned in "Adding Races and Stages"?
As for the stages packs i wasn't asking if you had one now, but if usually have every year. Sorry if sometimes my questions seem to you pretty basic but just now i started to be involved with daily.
Once again thanks a lot for the help. |

Exactly; as for the question in the second post, yes as well, both zces and cds are important to make stages work

Ok i add a new race to my db with stages allready in the game, when i go to play the crashes, plus when i change the names and some stats no problema it runs ok as soon as i touch the races a message appears saying that the db is not original and if i try to run it it's on my responsibility. So i ignore the message and the game crashes when i try to run my race? Can anybody help? |

It's probably a mistake you made when adding the races. Can you take a screen of your files in the game folder, edited sta_race and _stage?
