Stauff and Klemme in one CT team... That's just silly Pfft Plenty of other good riders also, will be shocked if you don't promote...

DaveTwoBob
@Ian - thanks and luck has been a big part so far so I hope it continues Smile

Wow, two 80+ guys in Klemme and Stauff are incredible for CT division, with nice second tier leaders for other terrains, surely a promotion candidate. Great job in your first transfers! Smile
I'll be back

Kraftwerk Man Machine January Preview

Whats playing on the Kraftwerk Man Machine Team Bus during January?

For the season opener we have our theme tune, The Man Machine, plus some samples and covers.

Here is a look at the very light racing programme of Kraftwerk Man Machine during January.

Clasico San Cristobal (Hills) Prediction - Klemme Top 2
DivRDsGoalStartlist
C22NoneKlemmeTatarinovIkibeVachonDenzSolerBrockhoffPolitt

Klemme has the highest OVL of the CT hill specialists but poor backup stats. With only 1 race for Kraftwerk Man Machine in January lets take time to look at his main CT rivals during this season.

Alex Dowsett - La Poste - Mavic Hill 80
Very similar stats to Klemme, worse mountains but bit better acceleration. Will still be there on very selective hills.

Enrico Barbin - Ferrero - Samruk Hill 78
Slightly worse hills and mountains but a lot better sprint and acceleration, if Barbin & Paravin are still there for the last Kms he will be the favourite for a win.

Tom Diggle - Xero Racing p/b Octagon Hill 77
Has the best TT of the hill climbers but poor backup stats mean Tom is unlikely to be a big threat to Klemme.

Gasore Hategeka - MOL - OMV Petrom Hill 77
Does have decent mountains but Gascore doesn't have the finishing power to trouble klemme.

Gracjan Lejman - Chiquita - Universal Hill 77
If we let this fierce fighter get in a break then we have trouble but otherwise no banana.

Simon Yates - Podium Ambition Hill 76
If we can't drop Simon before the finish then he has the sprint and acceleration power to take a win.

Marcello Pavarin - Ferrero - Samruk Hill 76
Quality support for Barbin makes Ferrero a real threat.

Julien Simon - Slovnaft - OTP Bank Hill 76
Another good hill sprinter backed up with good stamina and resistance, might be difficult to drop if the parcours is not too difficult.

Pleased to see Soler getting the jersey on show with the first attack.

A Rwandan wins the CT season opener in Cuba!

Klemme in 3rd is slightly disappointing but 3 in the top 15 makes up for that. He did manage to stay in front of main rivals Dowsett and Barbin

Vachon leading a group of 6 riders for 11th place was a great performance making him our rider of the month for January.

Looks like the hilly races are going to be a lot more open than my analysis suggested

Gasore Hategeka
Does have decent mountains but Gascore doesn't have the finishing power to trouble Klemme.

I wouldnt be too disappointed since 3rd is still a very solid start of the season. If he can repeat that kind of results thoughout the season then you're in for a great campaign Wink

After a quiet January, here is a look at the busy racing programme of Kraftwerk Man Machine during February.

C2HC Benelux Challenge (2*Hills, 2*Sprints, 1*Cobbles, 1*Prologue)
Prediction - Klemme Top 5
Startlist - Klemme Kurth Park Vachon Denz Soler Brockhoff Politt

C2 Tour of the Middle East (4*Mountains, 3*Hills, 3*Sprints 1*TT)
Prediction - Hacecký Top 10
Startlist - Hacecký Park Maikin Gerdemann Ikibe Bontenackels Vachon

C2HC Geraardsbergen-Bosberg (Hills & Cobbles)
Prediction - Kurth Top 15
Startlist - Kurth Tatarinov Walsleben Terasaki Denz Soler Brockhoff Politt

C2HC San Marino Hill Classic (Hills 13 climbs)
Prediction - Klemme Top 5
Startlist - Klemme Tatarinov Walsleben Terasaki Denz Soler Brockhoff Politt

Total Race Days 22 20% (YTD)

I was in two minds whether to send Klemme to the Benelux Challenge as his cobbles are dreadful. What swung it was in previous editions good puncheurs did well without having good cobbles, and he has a decent Prologue. I hope the gamble comes off.

The CT grand tour, Tour of the Middle East, clashed with 2 other races so we could only send 7 riders and it was too many race days for Stauff & Klemme. A top 10 is the best we can expect and a breakaway on S10 our only slim chance for a stage win.

We are hopeful Kurth can sprint to a good place in a second group at Geraardsbergen-Bosberg.

The 13 climbs of the San Marino Hill Classic should suit Klemme but the race clashes meant we only sent 1 good teammate.

The other thing to note is we have raced a fifth of our race days and Stauff has not started yet. We will take a look at the sprinters next month but this month ...

... lets take a look at Hacecký's rivals for achieving the 3 mountain goals we have this season. There are 7 riders with a better mountain stat so even with his good backup stats getting the top 5 finishes in Tour of Bulgaria and Tour de Langkawi will be really tough and a win in Volcan de Agua Classic is impossible.

Really like your updates, very informative and original.

Going to be an important month for you, with six rather crucial race days for Klemme in Benelux. Best of luck!

Croatia14
yeah I like it too! you can cut out Costagli though with Slovnaft somehow disappearing Wink wow the CT GT is getting filled with strong climbers...Hacecky is the next of what looks to be a very tough climbers battle eating up many race days

good luck in February!

Seems like well have some battles, obviously you're going to be the favorite Pfft Seems Stauff and Scully in the same position of no RDs yet so I guess I can lose to you more in the later months Pfft
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Tour of the Middle East
I couldn't miss the CT Grand Tour even though we don't have a strong stage racer. With 10 top 10 finishes and a 5th in GC and 3rd in points by Hacecký, Kraftwerk managed to get some useful points out of this race.

Cobbles are not a strong terrain for Kraftwerk and we couldn't quite manage to crack the top 10.

San Marino Hill Classic
Very frustrating that Klemme was the best of the favourites but we let the break take the win. Management takes full responsibility because we sent a stronger team to the Middle East and lacked the fire power to chase the break down. Still a 3rd place is a good result.

pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/kmm.png Klemme, comfortably the best from the peloton today, rounds out the podium. The win goes missing again, but a 3rd place is not to be sniffed at and his points tally rolls on fast. He just pips the breakaway rider, pcmdaily.com/files/Micros16/chi.png De Leon, at the line.

Kraftwerk Man Machine March Results

Top 10 results are in red.

Betonxpressz GP
Our first win of the season is delivered by Stauff after we were the only team who could live with the blistering pace of Podium Ambition and just pipped them to the top spot and racked up the points with 3 in the top 5!.

Tour of Bulgaria
A really important race for Kraftwerk with a Top 5 goal. Hacecký is not the best climber so we took some strong time trialers. This proved a great move as we won the TTT! Hacecký had a great final stage to finish third in GC achieving our goal and bagging a nice bunch of points. It was also great to see our Yorkshire friends getting the top spot.

We applied for this home PCT race to see how Stauff can perform at this level in the sprints, we didn't send anyone for the GC. He did pretty well and came very close to a win on stage 3 after Kump was on his wheel and pipped him on the line. And we got a surprise bonus when Brockhoff managed a 3rd place from the break on stage 5.

@ the_hoyle Thanks and yes the cycling gods do seem to be smiling on Kraftwerk at the moment, but they are fickle as seen by some of the crash-fests so my fingers are still firmly crossed. Very pleased to see Dowsett finally delivering for you in South Africa.

Kraftwerk Man Machine April (rather late) Preview

Whats playing on the Kraftwerk Man Machine Team Bus during April?

This month features, Autobahn, from the 1974 album Autobahn .

Here is a look at the racing programme of Kraftwerk Man Machine during April.

C2HC Busan GP (Flat)
Prediction - Stauff Top 5
Startlist - Stauff Kurth Maikin Terasaki Denz Soler Brockhoff Politt

C2 Tour of Almaty (Hills)
Prediction - Klemme Top 5
Startlist - Klemme Park Gerdemann Tatarinov Ikibe Soler Brockhoff Politt

C2HC Tour de Langkawi (1*Prologue, 7*Sprints, 2* Mountains)
GOAL - Top 5
Prediction - Hacecky Top 5, Stauff Top 3 Points
Startlist - Stauff Hacecký Maikin Tatarinov Ikibe Vachon Denz Soler

C2 Tour de Azerbaijan (1*Flat, 1*Hills, 2*Mountains)
Prediction - Gerdemann Top 20
Startlist - Kurth Park Gerdemann Walsleben Bontenackels Terasaki Brockhoff Politt

Total Race Days 18 47% (YTD)

The two one day races are good chances for top 5 places, Busan GP for Stauff and Tour of Almaty for Klemme .

The key race for Kraftwerk this month is Langkawi, where we have a top 5 goal on the shoulders of Hacecky and lots of sprint stages for Stauff . I am hoping for a stage win and top 3 in points from the flat stages but with only 1 leadout man Stauff might not get consistently good positioning.

Azerbaijan has the B team so anything at all from this race will be a bonus.

As promised here is a look at the very long list of Stauff's sprint rivals in CT. There are 24 riders with 79 sprint or better so every sprint stage will be hard fought and any stage wins will be well earned.

Stage win and leaders jersey in Malaysia

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Langkawi/2-13.jpg

Andreas Stauff was given the perfect leadout to win stage 2 of the Tour of Langkawi and converted a fine prologue ride on stage 1 into Kraftwerk's first leaders jersey.

Tomorrow its over to Martin Hacecky to lay the foundations for a top 5 finish to deliver our goal.

Thos could be a crucial amount of points scored in Langkawi due to Stauff madness and Hacecky's consistency! Great planning there!

Another stage win and EVERY jersey in Malaysia!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2016/Races/CT/Langkawi/3-16.jpg

In an amazing day for Kraftwerk, Martin Hacecky rode a great attacking stage to take our second stage win in a row.
He takes the leaders and KOM jerseys, Stauff retains the points jersey, Ikibe has the young riders jersey and we lead the team competition.

Sad to see rivals Sella and Kung crash with our own Tatarinov, hope they are all OK for the deciding climb on stage 5.
