I don't think it's weird. I'm actually loving to watch this TdS due to the fact that some of my favorite young riders (like Lopez & Barguil) are shining super bright!!! It's like we're watching the TDF of 2020 or so!!! |

While people are talking about Lopez, why did he get the nickname of Superman?

He was out on a training ride in Boyacá somewhere a couple of years ago and he was attacked by a pair of robbers/bandits, but managed to fight them off despite a) his rather diminutive size and b) being stabbed in the leg, and stopped them stealing his bike. He won a mountain stage in a race in Colombia the next week and the commentator dubbed him 'Superman' for fighting the robbers off and recovering so quickly and it seems to have stuck ever since. His twitter handle is even @SupermanlopezN so he obviously goes along with it!

Maybe, and I am just super guessing here, because he's, alledgedly, super talented, went to Astana to get super juiced and has yet to super deliver?
Damn shame I missed live coverage of that stage.
Damn shame² that Latour had to abandon. Don't understand why he didn't abandon in the rain on thursday though. A bronchitis turning into pneumonia is no fun.
Damn shame³ that Kelderman got dropped. After a great day he usually looses ground. Makes you wonder if he's that idealistic to try to compete without doping.
And what the heck...TVG won a stage?! And even attacked?! Crazy shite!
A rather short (16.8km) and slightly hilly (262m total inclination) ITT coming up today. |

TJ can actually race somewhat aggressively when he wants to in these one week stage races. Its the Tour de France which is the problem - he is conserving energy, hanging on for dear life etc. which I honestly don't think you can blame a rider like him for. A top-5 is a super big achievement. Its no Leipheimer we have here but unfortunately, many people will 'want' him to be that. I also remember him winning in Catalunya attacking some of the best climbers in the world. He is a very good climber on his day and it was obvious the weather played a big part when he lost 2 minutes. I honestly think he still has a shot to win overall - he is the best rider here, but he needs to pull something spectacular. Lets hope he is willing to risk, but more importantly, have the legs to be willing to risk. People often forget that last part.
Im not pro TJ at all, but is frankly annoys be how much flak he receives. |

24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Hm, I always thought that TVG was more of a TT guy that can climb decently.
And that attack doesn't exist in BMC team tactics!
Damn...Cancellara lost the lead.
Er...what the eff? Lopez' faster in an ITT than Cancellara?!
British Postal should sign him.

last stage will only be 57 kms because of bad weather. No Albulapass.

The extreme pussy protocol strikes again
No words for this shit. Seriously. Its not even dangerous at all, they simply didn't feel for it after a week with bad weather. They said so themselves:
"We're not expecting any snowfall, but we made this decision out of respect for the riders, who have been suffering bad weather since the start of the Tour de Suisse."
Remove it. Its not cycling. |

Well I prefer to ride when it's sunny too. But then again, I don't get paid for riding.
Landslides, avalanches, the zombie apocalypse, all valid reasons but rain? |

Nothing wrong having a extreme weather policy but they need to define it better so we don't get decisions like what's happened today and at T-A, the riders do need to be protected so hopefully they will rework the policy for next season
