Blame the race organisers for stacking three huge MTFs together and expecting action on all of them.

Well nice comeback by TVG. Portechkin will be proud of his super-domestique.
Barguil really lucky he got Lopez there to get some more seconds on the bunch.

Lopez, Lopez, Lopez. This place jerks off more to any young talent than ESPN to Stephen Curry. |

Lopez was too scared, I think he had more in the tank. Unfortunately... or fortunately, depending on how you look at it. Vuelta top-5?
Impressive comeback form TJ. He gets bashed, sometimes not rightfully, but today answered. I don't like him, but the more, the merrier. |

I'm not sure López counts as 'any young talent'

Awesome win for TVG. Great attack and awesome hold! Redemption!
Again a nice ride by Tlansky. He's gone hard a few days in a row but is very good at gauging his effort levels and finishing strong. Barguil is not a good time trialist so I think Talansky has a shot to catch him, more worried about Lopez as I've heard he isn't too shabby and haven't seen enough of him to really know. Talansky can be a really good time trialist on the right day, hoping that's what happens, rather than the other half of the time where he flops.

Superb redemption. Commentators had already prepared to see him slave for Lil Richie. They would be very wise to support him as much in the first week (which probably would've happen regardless of today).
Though, admittedly, both has huge minuses. TJ is somewhat prone to having a somewhat off-day while Richie can light it up occasionally, but lacks much more consistency/recovery. Altho it should be noted that in 2013, he was just plain bad which doesn't point to those problems, and in 2015, he simply got a bad blood bag Landa 2016-like. TJ that is.
Richie has more upside, but TJ is the more safe bet for a top5-8. |

Kind of a poor combo for a GT because both can be great but have recovery/off day issues.
