I think PCM16 is backwards compatible with PCM15 stages or less, but not the other way round

PCM15 stages work in PCM16, stages for PCM14 and older don't though. I'd say it's safe to copy over as long as you don't overwrite.

I don't understand: PCM14 stages worked perfectly in Pcm 15, so what's the difference between theese stages and PCM 2015 stages? |

I have no idea, I think only Cyanide knows why PCM14 stages don't work in 16 while they didn't in PCM15. To me it doesn't make much sense either

so the variant pack from PCMDaily 2016DB for PCM 2015 does that work in PCM 2016? or is there stages from older PCM games in that? |

Some stages will, some won't sadly. For example, none of the tours of emmea will work for PCM 16, or any of andrepg either. We are planning to release one variant pack with only the PCM 16 compatible stages for PCM 16 soon though, so stay tuned.

Sad thing about stages. So many old stages that had a nice touch. But perhaps the zcts file can be loaded in the editor.
If not I better find the difference that I found making it easy to get pcm15 work in pcm14. Time will tell if and well I invest in pcm16 (looks doubtful)
This last thing about older stages not working could be the BIG ngeative thing in my book. If the old zcts doesn't work either then it's a no buy for me.
The biggest issue in pcm15 was a new Spline Description for famous climbs, and of course if someone named the cobblestone sections. That made pcm15 stages crash in pcm14. OK some problems with new Wallhouses and Fences (but not indivdual IBs, they worked)
So a plain pcm15 stage with no Spline Description added, no wallhouses with new IBs and no new fences worked very nice, untouched, in pcm14.

There are about releasing a variant pack, but it won't certainly contain the same amount of stages that the one for PCM 15 had, for the simple reason many variants lack zcts and no one can convert them therefore.
