Just to put across a couple of points on the likes of Benoot, entirely away from the issue of nationality or other riders, focusing more on game dynamics.
1. I prefer with young riders that they are added at Level 1, which means a few seasons before they reach their max. However, a negative of this is that it is difficulty to create strong all-rounders here given the nature of the development system, and the factor of allowing managers full control over how to develop their riders.
2. So to do a rider like Benoot justice you would need to add him at a higher level, so multiple stats can be higher without allowing for the possibility of him becoming particularly strong in 1 stat as opposed to an all round rider. But do that, given his age, and he could be very strong for a very long period of time. It's happened before, most notably with Bewley. (Who was added back when somewhat less forward planning went into adding riders) But I wouldn't necesarily say it's good for the game as a whole to have such a situation. So the inclination is to wait.
3. If such a rider was added with decent stats for now, there's no guarantee that he will be a free agent a few seasons down the line, to allow for a powerful upgrade. So options are either add with rubbish stats just to have him in there, or not add him at all.
I think part of the reason Alak was so mad was not the current stats themselves, but the 5 potential on top of it. Given the fact that he's the second highest scoring U23 rider right now, and Alak has been hyping him so much for so long, he probably felt as if adding him like this was more of a troll towards him than a legitimate decision
At least that's how I interpreted things.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
And now you have maybe identified the reason, given how annoying he was with all that Benoot face jersey and other things around it.
If i was calling the shots, i would give him 50s.

That's pure unadulterated racism.
If you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best!
Agreed Alak was being a dick, but he's not the only guy interested in signing Belgian talents, so I would be disappointed if that was the reasoning behind it.

When i sort the latzest database by nation, Belgium has at least dozen of quality unmaxed youngsters who can reach 70+ in average, where five of them are part of your team already and quite a few are without team and signable...try compare that with other countries and only few will have better situation.
