All building up to what should be a very exciting final week. Kruijswijk has a very weak team even if Roglic starts climbing like he time-trials, but Astana have the firepower of Kangert, Fuglsang and Scarponi to bring to bear to try and isolate him. Nibbles needs to go on a crazy descent at least once somewhere and Astana put the hammer down on the Bonette for example and try and isolate Kruijswijk.
Nibali can have all the help in the world. If he climbs like this and Kruijswijk keeps climbing like this it doesn't matter. They are leagues apart.
Chaves is the only one riding on par with Kruijswijk uphill but also has no team to speak of. |

It does matter. Especially if Astana and Movistar decide to collaborate and put Amador and Fuglsang on attack mode. |

Uran out of the GC top 10 now in 12th. Honestly just terrible performance. Cannondale can't really buy a break, literally. You bring in a guy of his talent and he just doesn't show up. Super disappointing.

Why would they put Amador and Fuglsang in attack mode? It's not like Kruijswijk will go after people who are 5 and 8 minutes behind him the GC.
Also, I had all my PCM$ on a win Kruijswijk today and he loses for less than one second

On a slightly unrelated note: Thank you for taking me back to PCM.daily like it used to be. I've missed the dutch hype.

On the other hand you have Dombrowski riding really well and Moser has also been good in this race, now that Uran is officially cooked it frees up other riders on the team to go out into the breaks with a rider like Clarke a good shot to win a stage.

Oh god, you guys are spoiling me! This is just like Gesinkmania, the Ten Dam hype or the Dekker-party!

Hmm, so far it has been boring , not like last year where we had Contador alone vs Astana, Movistar and a few other teams.
That was a epic Giro.
I've found it entertaining but we all have different tastes
calling this giro boring is just crime against humanity |

Telling you, it really doesn't. Not if comparing relative strengths of the leaders.
IF one is too dominant or too strong this type of attack can't work.
With dumoulin last year it worked, because Dumoulin was relatively one of the weakest climbers in the top 10. With Kruijswijk, who, above all, is known for his recuparation and endurance.. well. I wish them good luck with that. Attack all you want. Chance is he follows and even counters. And then what? Amador and Scarponi chasing it down? They can't.. Then Nibali and Valverde have to follow themselves.Again, good luck with that.
I only give Chaves a chance because he's the same strength in climbing, maybe a tad better. |

The funny thing is, in my opinion, that IF Nibali attacks, Valverde will let his men chase him because he wants to gain time on Nibali. I dont think Movistar and Astana will work together... ever. That's a good thing for Kruijswijk.
I really hope he makes it this week, would be a sensation! |

It's not so much about attacking but more about bad luck, off-day etc. Problem is that: As soon as Steve Kruis has a bad moment Astana will be there to put in the dagger. Last year they were merciless with Contador and he prevailed. Steve Kruis can win the Giro, but he'll have to be very strong for that.
Maybe he can also profit off some Movistar interests. Say, Valv misses Astana train, then Movistar will chase for podium etc. Many hypothetical scenarios in coming third week, it'll be a goodie.

Andy Schleck: Kruijswijk can win the Giro if he remains calm.

Wasn't he speaking in general terms, like, somewhere in the future? That how I understood it. Anyways, it was a superb ride for Jungels again today, but top-10 is hard. |

Thanks. I get that.
Whats surprising is he has been nowhere on any mountain stage this year. Surely, you are if you are THIS good, but his best placings is in Roccaraso and Sestola in the 50's 60's. I get that he 'rested' yesterday, so did many others, I don't really buy into that much. Firsanovs performance on the other hand is quite trustworthy after dropping out of the GC and giving it a go today.
Edit: Apart from the stage to Friuli, whoops, which obviously was from a break, nevertheless semi impressive, but nothing that suggested he would do this well today. |

Is off-days and weakly team the same, in your opinion?
Ruben has the right, it's about having the strongest legs, not the strongest team.
