I may have found a bug in the system. I was brosing through my 'likes' and ran into a box with no text in it.
Presumably the post was just a Minions meme or something, but now I can't click on it to see which post it is. Is there a way this can be fixed?

So, I thought we maybe could use the rating widgets in the ManGame off-season. For example to confirm a deal (thumbs up)? Is not necessary but maybe there's a good way to use them to make the off-season easier? |

I dont like the voting system, I think it should be abandoned, this is not Facebook.
Some people abuse it and some are posting for the sole purpose of getting likes at times. Sometimes, it feels like its a contest. 'Funny' one liners. Also, I hate the fact that it can be used to gang up on a particular member.
Its too easy just to dislike or like a comment. I would like people to elaborate instead of these silly like/dislike.
Just my 0,02 cents, everyone probably disagrees tho.. |

Obvious/extreme abuse is dealt with (like spamming all the buttons on posts).
Do people seriously care that much if they get likes to just post likeable content? Those people need a reality check more than a system change. It's like people who cared about post-count, we didn't hide post counts we just ignored those peoples comments on the matter.
Can you point out to me any member who's been ganged up on, or members ganging up on someone? Cause that is something the Admin would have to look into.

How about a captcha before you can apply a rating
There's nothing to stop you elaborating with a comment as well as posting. If you just want to post a +1, use the like/whatever, if you have a more complete comment to make go for it. No-one will ever complain or stop you from doing that. It's encouraged!
I don't think i've actually ever given a rating, because if i care enough to give a rating i care enough to elaborate my thought into a post. It's more useful to someone that just like/dislike/etc, although there is no reason both can't be done.

I think people seriously care about likes, yes. At least some does. I do as well. I don't wan't to be a jerk and hang people out, but nonetheless I am, and Waghlon is a name that comes to mind.
I don't really have an example of that right now, no, and I don't really want to try to dig one up which probably would help my case. I know many people like it more than those who don't and it won't be changed... I just wanted to let you guys know that Im not fond of the system.
I know there is nothing that should stop you to actually take the time to write an elaborating post on something, but nonetheless I think the like-system hampers that. Its just my guess, I could be totally wrong here |
