Starting in Manosque and staying in the Provence, sets the begin of the 16th stage. At first, the peloton is heading northern towards Sisteron. Right before Sisteron they take a left-hand turn to the Col du Pas de Graille. A 1st category climb. Then the pack is riding to the Town of Sault, where the intermediate sprint is taken. From there the peloton must tackle the Mont Ventoux, not once - but twice. The first time from Sault, 23 kilometres at 5 percent, which makes a first category climb. Then the peloton descends to Malaucene, where they take a left-hand turn to Bedoin. From Bedoin it's the well-known ascent to the Mont Ventoux at 22-23 kilometres and over 7 percent, HC-catgory!

Welcome to another stage in the Alpes. Today's up and down is leading from Roquebilliere, a small town southern Isola northern to Barcelonette. On the way are five mountain passes, one 3rd category, three 1st-category and one HC-category climb. At first it's the Col Saint-Martin, 15 kilometres at 6 percent, although the second part of the climb is way steeper. Then it's the Col de la Couillole, 16 kilometres at almost 8 percent, steep and steady. From there it's comparatively easy to the Valberg. But then there come two further climbs, both 1st category. Col des Champs with 16 kilometres at 6.5 percent and the Col d'Allos 13 kilometres at around 6 percent. Once the last summit is climbed the riders must overcome the dangerous descent to Barcelonette, where the time is taken at 7 seconds.

Welcome. We take a small break from all that climbing and looking into the last timetrial of the race. It's around 50 kilometres from Embrun to Briancon. However, it isn't really flat. The road is continuously rising and offers a small climb on the way. The finish in Briancon is tricky as well. At the end, when the legs are hurting as hell there is a short steep climb to the finish line. Today's stage sets the tone for tomorrows stage, where's the last chance to make up some time before Paris.

Welcome to the last stage before Paris, welcome to the Queens Stage of the Tour. We make a short trip from Briancon over the Lautaret and starting today in the City of Grenoble. From there the peloton climbs the Col de la Croix at first, a Pas right next to Chamrousse. From there it's a quite long build up to the next climb, the Col du Glandon with his characteristic three step climb. From there we're descending to La Chambre, where the sprint is taken. Then it's the Col de la Madeleine, another HC-Category. Once over that one, we take a left-hand turn before riding towards Valmorel to the Col d'Navas. Altogether they offer over 6200 height meters, 5 climbs, and over 180 kilometers.
