What is this "matrix" I see people mentioning? Sorry if this is a silly question.

The stat matrix basically comprehends minimum and maximum stat limits and the amount of riders on a certain stat. It varies from DB to DB and from Stat to Stat, for example Fighter's stat matrix is radically different compared to the Resistance's stat, or Focus DB has got completely different stats compared to ours.

So it's essentially a list or spreadsheet of minimum and maximum values of every stat? Is this why you rarely see any stats above 83 or 84? Thanks for the reply.

Yes.
You can have a stat matrix with several riders for example at 85 climbing, but in our database matrix, stats rarely rise above 83.

(mostly so riders can still develop. Starting at 85 isn't interesting because 85 is the max in the game)

Not using 84's is good in my opinion, it should only be done if a rider is a class above the rest, I think I gave it Tony Martin 84TT in my own version once, the year he won every time trial.

Demare's stat's are pretty spot on, as usual.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

So is the matrix essentially the DYN_Cyclist data in the .cdb or is it more complicated than that?

It's exactly that yeah, nothing complicated.

Have seen sagan in his sprints? His 2nd places is because of bad decisions but also his good acc. He starts the sprints when its just like 40-60 meters left to the finishing line. He sits on the wheel a long time and starts the sprint too late, but his acc his a beast

hmmm...I disagree with you on this point, latest example against that was the Tirreno stage Greggy won...

Yeah, but he had to close the gap too... i think it was kwiatkowski, or else he would have won. And van avermaet didnt deserve that victory at. He didnt lead the peleton at any point when they were in the break. And he did just ride on the wheel of sagan the last km. Good strategi you could say, but unfair

I think it shows that GVA has learnt to finally plug his brain in when it comes to cycling and certainly took a leaf out of Gerrans' book here.

This way of riding might not be sporting but it doesn't break any rules either and I think GVA deserves any victories he gets now after years of just missing out.

True also van Avermaet accelerate better than Sagan...

Are you going to give some points to Edward Theuns in his Sprint/Acc stats???

This boy is fantastic, he is in all the sprints.

At the moment he's 76/77 and we'll see how he goes at GW.

It looks like you know nothing about cycling... ssgsn were taken wind snd used much more power thsn than avermaet then (the whole race too) and then its not hard for a rider to get in front of him....

Well it's fairly obvious in the sprint that you're talking about that GVA would wheel sit, as Sagan had two teammates at least with him in that break and there were also a couple of Etixx riders as well to put in the work.

Also Sagan's second places are not really for bad decisions. He sprints without a sprint train and jumps on wheels instead, not an easy skill to master. He's also sometimes sprinting against riders who are faster than him and by not being a specialist doesn't excel in any one special area like sprinting, he's never going to be as fast as the really top sprinters.

Instead he's really like an old fashioned rider that can race in all kinds of scenarios as well. His achilles heel imo is his ability to win races over really long distances and we'll see how he does in Flanders and Roubaix.

I know it's a small sample size, but Micheal Woods has ridden up the mountains today and yesterday in a very steady to 20 pace, as good as Fromolo. I'd say 70 mountain is a little weak.

He had already been upgraded to 72 mountain Smile

Maybe an upgrade on Catrhy's MO after his Catalunya performances?

He's been provisionally been put on 74 mountain and 73 hill. We'll await more results before pushing it even more.

Since I got asked to suggest some stuff, Louis Vervaeke is riding quite well in Catalunya, maybe a small upgrade for him?

Carthy is at 75 for me already, since the field he's facing is incredible here, almost every team leader showed up.

I think if you put him on 74, he may well be at 75 by the time of Catalunya in a career.

PeterRyder
Yeah, I agree with 74 aswell because this is his first major result, and just like Gonçalves p.e. we can't give him a major upgrade straight away imo.
