Hugh Carty 9th!
This guy is 21 and already was top10 in last years USA Pro Challenge.
Wonder if Sky is going for him after this season. |

Indeed, the climb was easy.Didn't think Daniel Martin would be in good form here. But he was in good form.
Also nice ride by Contador, dropping Froome.
And bad performance by Quintana. |

rly nice stage, pretty dissapointed ride by froomie considering that sky was in charge the entire stage but maybe this is just warming up for both him and also quintana; i was very impressed by contador this stage, he was alone and still manage to pull a decent result and also.. really freakin good ride by dan martin, he came from nowhere and fuck em up on the last km, perfect stage for him xD
im lookin forward for tomorrow's stage, hope there will be more attacks and maybe, something from astana, i didnt saw them at all today |

Yeah, this is an on-going problem, lack of support in the final kilometers of a mountain stage when SKY still has a whole bolster to fire. However, Bertie doesn't rely on teammates to such an extent as particularly Froome does, and he has learned to use it to his strengths by now, like at Giro.

When I watched Martin riding away, I felt happy, I started pumping my fist. i had to try to remind myself I don't like him anymore.
Maybe I was wrong. I can't hold a stupid grudge forever. I'd rather my favorite rider be on my favorite team, but I guess it doesn't always have to be that way. Still tough seeing him in an Etixx jersey but I can't be angry about it anymore.

Do anybody know what happened to Nacer Bouhanni and Arrendondo? They didn't finish the stage... |

Why did you decide not to like him after he left Garmin?

I felt like had betrayed me somehow. I don't know. You can see my posts about it all over last year's transfer thread.

well, they are two different riders but contador today learnt from the past, he didnt attack or did yolo stuff vs a very very strong team sky like he did before with nieve, pouls, thomas and vasily (i barely wait to see him tomorrow on that HC climb, he's one of my fav domestique riders xD); he just made his move when he suppose to do it, but like i said, i still think that froome is just warming up here, it's hist 1st major race this season. also, let's face it, tinkoff have a very weak team in this tour of catalonya, no kreuziger, no majka; we will see tomorrow how it goes.

Alright, I hope you can start liking him again. Like you say, you shouldn't hold on to a stupid grudge forever.
Sometimes I think it could be good to have someone to root for.

I have this weird feeling that Quintana and Contador will ride away comfortably on Port Aine and decide the stage. Contador looks 2014-esque, maybe a little weaker which is kinda scary.
Bardet also evolving nicely. Impressed with his early season so far. |

No, Contador has done this plenty of times to just sit back and watch the Sky train. This mountain was always going to end in a final km-battle and everybody knew it. That's why nothing happened at all, except for Vervaeke that is.

Sky is sending Poels upfront who was part of their 3 leader approach yesterday, today maybe as a relay station later on? Maybe we get some fireworks after the dull stuff on stage 3
