A PPP poll in Iowa I think. They're my favorite polling agency, they always poll some funny questions and some audience-submitted questions.
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

I think its not about war or not war, there was are war going on before the Paris Attacks, and it is escalated (no doubt what IS wanted, and they got it).
By fears is more about how it will look in 10-20 years.
Thoughts like: Will we be able to maintain the democraty we know, or will we move towards a kind of "police state", because we will chose seccurity from personal freedom.
How will live be for the muslim's in europe, with the increesed tension that is allready started with the refuge situation.
ect ect.
The long term impact is kinda scary

This Poll isn't that surprising, in fact I'm surprised it isn't more in favour of making Islam illegal. All you have to do is look at Polls that ask Americans if Angels exist and you get high numbers, Polls in the U.S are always skewed to the redicoulus because the country is

Do you want to expand on that? Because it seems like a hollow argument

Don't have much time but quick answer:
Abaaoud, Abdeslam, Hadfi all these guys have either grown up or lived good portions of their life in Molenbeek (one of the 19 towns of Brussels). For 20 years it was run by a socialist mayor who let all migrants do whatever they wanted as to keep his post. During his tenure the town became what is now discribed as a ghetto for jihadi's. Slighting of youth, Islamic book shops selling extremistic magazines, jihadi colours being worn at school. I have even heard of people who work at a school there (they were teacher to Hadfi who blew himself up Friday) that the teachers send out warnings about growing radicalism. Nothing was done against it.
While 10 km further there is the town of Vilvoorde that had just as a big a problem of radicalism growing but has done a very good job cleaning up.

Reminds me of something a member of the CSU, the party that brought us "King Crazy" Horst Seehofer and a constant stream of completely ridiculous ideas (they wanted to make a law that would force all foreigners to speak German at home, as an example), recently said: "All terrorists would vote socialists". Such a qualified statement, to think people get paid to say stuff like that...

The irony, Brussels the home of the EU, which also turns out to be a festering hot bed of terrorism.
Gotta love how Merkel went from most outspoken to the timidest leader in these past 2 weeks

Tough times for her.
Due to her pretty open politics in the refugees topic, which basically more the politics of the other parties, she has quite some unhappy members in her own party already.
And the less open bits of it, mainly their Bavarian part, could be even more offended depending on what she says about the actual topic.
For the very first time since Merkel I like what she is doing at the moment. More accurate you could also say, it's the very first time ever she is actually making relevant decisions.
Highly time they "rebuild" their party and kick out those Bavarian CSU part quickly, that is more and more moving right, which is not at all helpful. |

Breaking News, NATO Alliance shoots down Russian plane after attacks on NATO bases in Raqqa.
( on more serious note, if the planes piloted its air space than Turkey has every right to do, but so far it seems conflicting reports it if did..)

Yeah, at the airport and in subway, terrible. Belgium seems lost in its fight with terrorism, i suppose it has something to do with police and other organs not doing much work in fight with radicalization of muslims during recent years, as Spilak23 was pointing out?

I'm sorry for our fellow belgians. We really need to rethink our way of handling the problems in syria. I don't want to start a big discussion here, because I only get called "nazi" afterwards, because some people only see black and white.

A) This attack has very likely nothing to do with "problems in Syria".
B) Nobody will call you a nazi here. Or you have different experience?

Yeah. We need to actually punish IS for helping/inspiring terrorists in Europe.
Oh, wait, you meant something about refugees, didn't you?

@Paul - I assume by problems in Syria you mean Islamic State (In Syria), as opposed to the migrant crisis which is a lot wider than just Syria and is pretty un-related to terror attacks?
