The C2HC category is restricted to the CT teams. In those races you can win or lose promotion. Those, who promote should take care of their C2HC choices as having the suited riders is vital in the scoring battle.
4 C2HC band with 20 race days each are available. 3 of those will be picked by every CT team. The selection process starts later once the full calendar is revealed.
Of 19 C2HC races 13 remained from last year. Some are completely new, while others got dropped from the PCT ranks.
| Acropolis Cup | Greece | 2 | | Tour of Bulgaria | Bulgaria | 5 | | Geraardsbergen-Bosberg | Belgium | 2 | | GP Yekaterinburg | Russia | 2 | | Barcelona Classic | Spain | 2 | | Tour de Pologne | Poland | 7 |
Acropolis Cup, Yekaterinburg and Pologne remains in this band. The Geraardsbergen-Bosberg Classic moves over to this band while both Bulgaria and Barcelona dropped from C1 category.
A lot of hills and also mountains in this band, while also the cobblers and sprinters get a bit.
| Ruta America del Sur | South America | 8 | | Post Danmark Rundt | Denmark | 5 | | Tour of Scotland | United Kingdom | 5 | | Great Ocean Road Classic | Australia | 2 |
Ruta America del Sur and Tour of Scotland remain in this band while the Great Ocean Road Classic moves over. The Post Danmark Rundt drops from PCT ranks.
A rather flat looking band with del Sur, Danmark and Great Ocean all being without big climbs. Scotland though offers some hills and even a mountain top finish but was reduced by 1 stage in comparison to 2015.
| La Tropicale Amissa Bongo | Algeria/Gabon | 6 | | Tatranska Klasika | Slovakia | 2 | | Tour de Langkawi | Malaysia | 10 | | Zuri Metzgete | Switzerland | 2 |
Exactly the same band as in 2015. No changes at all.
Ruta America del Sur is a sprinters dream despite some uphill sections. Langkawi also offers many pan flat sprinter stages while the climbers make the GC on 2 days.
Tatranska is one hell of a mountain classic while Zuri Metzgete brings the interest to the puncheur teams as well.
| Benelux Challenge | Benelux | 6 | | Sachsen-Anhalt Classic | Germany | 2 | | San Marino Hill Classic | San Marino | 2 | | USA Pro Cycling Challenge | USA | 8 | | Busan GP | South Korea | 2 |
USA Pro Cycling Challenge and Benelux Challenge are back in this band. First offers a tough mountain route as also a time trial for the stage racers while later is for the tough riders over hills and cobbles.
Then a nice variety of terrains. The new Busan GP is for the sprinters in South Korea. Also new on the calendar the Sachsen-Anhalt classic which leads over lots of cobbled sections. For the puncheurs there is the difficult San Marino Hill Classic.
In total all but the climbers should be happy with this band.

Ohhh interesting, all 4 bands look interesting for the Minions... Thanks Roturn and SN
EDIT: spotted a mistake in Band 2, the table says Zimnayna GP but the text and the profile pic shows Great Ocean Road Classic?

Fixed.
Great Ocean Road Classic is correct. The other was a leftover from last year. |

Easy for me, pick the ones with Cobbles Looking good, some nice changes from last year to keep things fresh, challenging and unique. Plenty of good opportunities for new teams to shine

I like these bands a lot. The changes look great and are imo well balanced.
Thanks a lot for the work, SN!

Well this is hard. Conventional wisdom would say that the only Danish team would need to be in the only Danish race, right? Based on my team though, conventional wisdom might be wrong. Maybe not. I can't pick it and successfully defend all of De Maar's titles. Tough decision.
Either way, some great looking races! So excited for the new year already! Thanks to everyone involved.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Very easy decision on my preferences for the bands - really like the changes, and it is a very nicely balanced across them all.
Thanks roturn and SN

Bands X, Y and Z will be the most likely selection of races for my team.
You are not allowed to reveal your choices until after transfers iirc |

HC bands are decided before transfers, but it's best not to reveal what your choices are likely to be

No NZ races here but as TMM said there's still another category where there may be some of the ones we saw earlier this year, if it was that small a period of time ago. Lovely calendar in more important news but unlike the others I didn't decide already, guess that's to be expected though. Much to ponder!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."
