Since I don't wanted to change the topic back to IE again, I'm going to "contribute" to the actual "forum" topic.
Alak is really right. Forums as a whole are dying. Also PCM, simply is too much of a nichè product. We can all be proud, that the forum is still alive and that there's THAT much content on here. 90% of the forums, I was registered on before, I had by far the most posts, and I still hadn't 100. Surely a "clean up" would be a nice thing, but afaik, the forum is still running well, with alot of activity still. Alot of activity also shifted onto skype, because it's much easier to write or even talk on skype, than to write a post in a forum.
Also, we should really be happy to have such great members. Let me take this "IE "debate"" as an example. In most forums, people would have reacted, way more immature and aggressive. BBL, for example, is always calm and looking for the right words(sure, he's from the US, so having english as your native tongue is an advantage, but still). Don't forget that he's still quite young(15 or 16, iirc). Most people I know at that age, would just have written insults and other idiotic stuff.
What I wanna say is, that although we all have our differencies at some point, things never got really personal. I really think we shouldn't discuss, if/how/when/why daily is dying/fading. Instead we should be happy, that we had the chance to be here.

I disagree. I believe PCM15 is a major step in the right direction for PCM. It's by far the best PCM ever made Ian. If I had more time today, I would write a better argument.
From PCM11, game gets worse every year. Unfuctional stats, unfuctional game modes, gimmick graphical improvements that only matters for children, functional things being taken out and replaced by messed up new ones. Terrible management side of a management game!
No feedback from Cyanide, they dont care about community at all. Unfuctional multiplayer. Two months of holidays for Cyanide after release!! Terrible optimalization, bad interface. Every fucking stage is almost the same, there are only few differences because of diffefrent terrain. Apart from that, every mountain stage is same attack at foot of last mountain!!
Should i continue? This is only for start...

PCM 11 was definitely one for the ages, it really had great variety on mountain stages and it was very fun overall
however, the graphics and be a pro mode on pcm 15 are fantastic and are enough to make me overlook the overall issues with the game
That said, I feel like pcm 15 doesn't make me want to spend 400 hours on it like i did w/ pcm 11, personally I'd much rather play a game like Cod or madden. But then again that might just be me.
Honestly, every time there's a PCM wishlist thing, I see TMM say "release the same game, but with all the bugs fixed and updated rosters, nothing new" and honestly I think at this point that would be perfect
Also on the topic of dying forums, I dont think forums are dying in general but I do think that the popularity of PCM might not be growing like it was before. Also seeing that we get almost all of the teams being licensed, it almost dimishes the need to go find a forum for help |

I stopped contributing to this site because I don't like how the game evolved and the game was the main reason why I went to this site beside real cycling. But it might be true that many, mainly young people don't like to dedicate themselves to a thing any more, so why should they even register to a forum.
I think many people tend to have a concentration span of a gold fish these days: Look at that funny cat picture, click, look at that strange politician, click, and so on. These people could never play a game where they have to "plan" before actually seeing the riders on the road. Maybe Cyanide should add a new mode to PCM: "Road rage" or "Bicycle dismount" |

Totally agree with Paul. I've been on some forums where the infighting is so ridiculous I just want to give up. Aside from one argument with isso on my second day(one that ended up with me taking on almost everyone else, and being thumped) I've never seen a real argument. And wherever there has been one, it's just one person being an idiot, and the excellent admin team(something else to be proud of) snuff it out almost immediately.
Come on. Let's just enjoy this while it lasts.

Well, guys. It might not be the biggest achievement, but I can proudly say this is the happiest day of my life!
My big sister (with whom I have a special bond) has just given birth to my first little niece, Louisa.
I'm an uncle now. Amazing
Got to wait an hour before I can go visit in the hospital, though, time moves so slowly! |

Cheers guys just went to visit in the hospital, both the baby and the mother are doing excellent!
Magnificently beautiful baby, by the way
And being an uncle, that's the best job. None of the responsibilities, twice the fun
Well, except the first years, where changing diapers is the same for everyone |

Congrats Ian and to your sister too, i can assure you that you are right that being an uncle is much less responsibility.
But at least you can train stuff for the future, as i did with one niece and one nephew.

So we went into the studios the entire weekend with the band.
Got first versions and must say I'm extremely proud of them.
When we get final version and put it on the internet, I'll definitely share it here. Must warn you it's not for everyone, though. Very specific type of music
Best way to describe it is a mixture of Pink Floyd, Om and Flying Horseman (Belgian band). Result is awesome. Very happy with it.
We have released our music online.

Just gave it a listen. I also like your new avatar.
Liked "Intruder" a lot. Kind of my music actually.
"Hostage" wasn`t that much my taste. But nevertheless nothing bad to say about it. A bit melancholic. What I loved though was the guitar solo in the 2nd half as I can`t get enough of those.
"The Hunter": Is it your voice that goes really high? Or are you drums and electronica only in those 4?
"Widows in Paradise" reminded me on some other great and popular song. Just can`t say which one. In especially those sections, when it gets faster and the drums comes into play. Possibly a bit of a-ha in those? |

Cheers for the feedback, roturn!
In this band I'm simply the drummer and electronics our singer is very talented.
Though I do some backings, in these recordings I can only be heard as a low backing vocal in Intruder.
Oh and also the sample in Widows In Paradise (that extremely low voice in the beginning and in the middle), that's me, too though down a few octaves |
