So we went into the studios the entire weekend with the band.
Got first versions and must say I'm extremely proud of them.
When we get final version and put it on the internet, I'll definitely share it here. Must warn you it's not for everyone, though. Very specific type of music
Best way to describe it is a mixture of Pink Floyd, Om and Flying Horseman (Belgian band). Result is awesome. Very happy with it. |

So the stunt with you pretending to leave just so you can finally win an award didn't pay off, eh?

Oscar nominations day, somewhat overshadowed by the death of Alan Rickman. He's one of my all time favorite actors and people in general. Most famous for playing Snape in Harry Potter he also portrayed Hans Gruber in Die Hard, Sheriff of Nottingham in Prince of Thieves, Metatron in Dogma, Marvins in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and many more fantastic roles. This hurts me more than Bowie. 2016 sucks!
On the other side, Oscar Nominations. 10(!) for Mad Max, yippee! 7 for The Martian, woohoo!
Best Picture will be a showdown. Room making a god charge in other awards but the Academy can be predictable which favors The Revenant. Animated Feature i expect to go to Pixar for Inside Out, but it shouldn't be. Best Actor is pretty wide open but my money would be on Fassbender or Redmayne. F*ck Lawrence's nomination for Best Actress, Acadameny is a piece of sh*t there as this should go to Brie Larson. Supporting Actor i don't know but i want it to be Stallone. Supporting Actress i expect to go to Mara but could well be Winslet. Please please please please please can Miller win Best Director, please please please. The Martian HAS to win Adapted Screenplay. Look at Straight Outta Compton getting a nomination for Original Screenplay!
I won't go into the more techie awards. Dissapointed Sicario didn't get more nominations, it's the best film i've seen of the year (but i am yet to see most of the awards ones, damn release dates!). The Revenant got a bit too much love imo but at least Joy got basically none.
Conclusion: i'm not as annoyed by the nominations as usual, and it's a more open awards than usual as well i think

Glad to hear that The Martian got so many nominees. I'm not a huge fan of movies in general, but I really liked The Martian. I don't think that I've ever become more happy about hearing a song in a movie as I became when David Bowie's Starman was played in this movie.
Sad to hear about the death of Rickman. |

Nah, Di Caprio will finally win it. If not, they can fuck off. Best actor of the generation by miles and still ignored, it cant be forever...
Revenant is totally awesome!

I want him to win just so the goddamn meme will sod off.
As far as "best actor of the generation by miles", he's just not. In part will depend on your definition of generation. I'd offer up Daniel Day-Lewis, Jaoquim Pheonix, Javier Bardem, Jeff Bridges, Mark Ruffalo, Tommy Lee Jones, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Denzel Washington, Sean Penn, Tom Hanks, Ralph Fiennes and some more as at least equal to Di Caprio.
Certainly i find it hard to find a Leo performance that was worthy of the Oscar. 2013 he was outclassed by McConaughey and Dern and Ejiofor. 2006 he was easily easily beaten by all 4 other nominees (how did he even get nominated for Blood Diamond with that accent?!). 2004 he was 3rd or 4th best of the nominees.
1993 he should have won Supporting Actor, that perfomance in Whats Eating Gilbert Grape was extraordinary. But other than that i really can't find an acting performance i'd say should have won the Oscar in that year.

So i have found out that being a father is both incredibly great and stressful at same time. Still i would not change it for anything, who cares about other unimportant stuff. Now to tell my boss that i need some sleep during worktime.

Congrats again Avin, can only imagine what raising a child is like, but I do know although it may get tough the good will always outweigh the bad when you stick to it!
